It depends on the pump, but you'll almost certainly need a fitting to connect the pump to the tubing. Bends in the hose caused by shipping are easy to remove; simply unroll it and let it relax. I also like how it bites down hard on 1/2" barbed fittings and valves, removing the need for clamps completely. Once you've pushed it onto the fitting, you'll need to cut it off to remove it. The black color is perfect for blocking out light, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Although I have not yet rebuilt the pond and waterfall, I had been using clear plastic tubing on the ends with a piece of copper pipe in between. I like how versatile this is, and because it's black, it'll blend in nicely. There are no issues because the fit has already been tied.
The water in which this tube was sitting has a petroleum tinge to it now. This is RO water in a 5 gallon bucket that has been cleaned. After the tubing has been added, the sheen appears.
This was exactly what I needed for my "redneck" grill's water heater! I believe it is heat resistant up to about 130°, but I didn't go any further. There will be no algae build-up if the tubing is black. the tube's interior.
At room temperature, the material is very stiff. Heat from a heat gun, on the other hand, quickly softened it. It's quite tough, and the fact that it's black helps to prevent algae growth.
It's less expensive on Amazon than it is at Home Depot. br>br>.
We used it to connect a UV sterilizer to our pump because of its length and flexibility.
According to some of the other reviews, I believe there was a warehouse mix-up that has since been resolved. Mine arrived in perfect condition, soft and pliable. It grips barbed fittings well without the use of a clamp. Kinks are also easy to get rid of.
