Product Description

Growing discs made of Coconut Coir are designed specifically for eco-friendly starting kits and will expand to fill most 100 seed starter trays

Discs for the Cell Based Seed Starter trays are specifically designed for them. You can place one or two discs in each hole depending on the size, add water, and the coir disc will expand rapidly, break down, and fill the hole.

The Coir Discs we produce are made from 100% natural Coconut coir pith. Professional growers all over the world use them.

We wash our Coconut Coir multiple times and dry it before sieving the dried material to remove impurities and compressing it into 3 cm discs

There are no best practices for using the Discs in flat trays since the discs are designed to expand and break down into fluffy coco coir.

If wet, they fall apart. They sprouted nothing. The money I lost is gone! I wish I could get it.

The expansion did not work

For the start of our seedlings indoors this year, these were not a good buy. As the coir did not expand fully in water, I was left to break the material up into pieces with a fork before planting the Nonetheless, I noticed most of the bottom portions of my seeds were very compact when I transplanted them outdoors last week. This would explain why my seedlings were much smaller than usual - they seem to have retained more of their compactness. Without a place to grow, the roots were stunted.

These pods do not leave a mess and are convenient. A seed needs water, seed needs sun, and a seed needs seed. For the garden, you need healthy, strong seedlings. Thanks for letting me know.
