Questions & Answers

Is it necessary to remove the netting once the seeds have germinated, or can the roots grow through it?

Although the nets are advertised as biodegradable, I've heard anecdotal reports that they can take a long time to degrade (leaving at least 1-foot of material behind). 2 years). It's fine to remove the netting before moving the pod to a larger pot; simply cut down the side with a sharp safety knife.

I'd like to do a craft in a mug but am concerned that they will expand too much and cause a mess. ?

When submerged in one inch of water for 20 to 30 minutes, they will swell to about four times their dry size, which is much smaller than a regular mug. about 1. 70" H X 1" W X 70" H X 1" W When fully expanded, the sphere measures 5" in diameter.

What kind of seeds are these herbs?

These aren't seeds at all. These are moss pellets that can be used to plant seeds. You water the seed after pushing it into the small divot on the top. The seed can begin to grow after the moss pellet absorbs water and expands. You can now transfer the entire pellet into your larger pot once it has grown large enough. When you're doing this, I'd suggest cutting the netting off.

Is it possible to use these for microgreens?

They would, but using it for microgreens would be a huge waste. One seed per pellet and one inch of space are required for the pellets. You'll need to space your microgreens much closer together. Some microgreen shops sell sheets of various materials that fill the tray and eliminate the need for soil.

Technically, it's not JIFFY 7
3/5

As a result, don't put it on your list as such! These are not to be confused with Jiffy Cornbread Muffin Mix; they are not interchangeable. Although these little pucks of joy aren't Jiffy 7 pellets, a generic and inexpensive mini puck of joy will suffice. If you want to have a measuring contest, I believe these are the same size as Jiffy J4R25 pellets. br>br>A seed will germinate in the dark on a warm paper towel. Things germinate at different rates. Cloning? I literally cloned basil without the use of hormones in some fox farms soil and grew tons of seed in that or a coir blend or whatever. br>br>These little knockoff pellets appear to be fine; if the clones all rot and the cakes and zukes don't pop soil in a timely manner, I'll update the review. Update! br>br> br>br>Holy bananas, if you're reading this. I started ten clones into these tiny turds, if you can believe it. They all rotted, and there wasn't a single root that popped. I'm a little annoyed that I've wasted 6 weeks messing with these little annoyance pucks now that I think about it. Personally, I despise them, and I believe Amazon made a mistake by listing Jiffy 7 Pellets as an "Amazons Choice. " Mr. Bezos and/or the Amazon bot, these aren't Friggin Jiffy 7 pellets!.

Only 36 pellets are included in the box, not the 50 advertised on Amazon's Choice page
3/5

I deducted a star because it advertised 50 pellets but only delivered 36. br>br>The pellets arrived in a Jiffy box with the words "36 Peat Pellets" preprinted on it. "50 Count - 50 Count - 50 Count - 50 Count - 50 Count - 50 Count - 50 Count 7 Peat Pell Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy Jiffy "Easy to Plant in the Garden. " br>br>THERE ARE ONLY 36, NOT 50, PELLETS IN THE BOX! br>THERE ARE NO WAY 50 PELLETS CAN FIT IN THIS BOX! The "Amazon's Choice" rating left me very disappointed. I mistook the rating for Amazon having vetted the product, but clearly they did not, and here's the kicker: Amazon did not vette this product. The item was delivered straight from Amazon.

What a bargain! Planting seeds has never been easier! These teeny-tiny peat pellets are a fantastic find
5/5

In water, they expand in less than 10 minutes. Once you have them in a tray (I used plastic chicken roaster pans and even a plastic produce container with a few holes poked through the lids), I quickly planted all of my seeds and placed all of my little trays on my heating mat, allowing the little greenhouses to get to work! There's no mess, no fuss, just a quick and easy procedure! It's the only way I'm ever going to start a garden!.

As long as you know what you're doing, let them do their job
4/5

Simply fill the pot with water and wait a few minutes for it to inflate. I've had the seeds in them for three days now, and the pots seem to be holding their shape well. The fabric is easily ripped, which is to be expected given that the goal is for them to blend in nicely with the soil.
2. They arrived in an Amazon bag, and when I opened it, I expected to find them in some sort of interior casing, but instead they were floating around in the shipping bag. As far as I could tell, this did not appear to harm them, but it was a bit messy and difficult to store. I was unable to locate any branding or labels.

The seeds were not able to sprout
3/5

I compared the same seeds planted on the same day in these peat pellets to the same seeds planted on the same day in these peat pellets. in a standard six-seedling container with container-garden soil Each received the same amount of watering and seedling starter solution, and they were all kept in the same location. Surprisingly, almost none of the seeds in the peat pellets grew into seedlings, while about 3/4 of the seeds planted in a plastic container grew into plants. I used spaghetti squash, Serrano chiles, and eggplant to compare the peat pellets and plastic containers. This is a product that I would not purchase again. In addition, there were no instructions provided - It came in a plastic bag with no label on it. It was a waste of money!.

They're incredibly simple to work with
5/5

So, this is my first year of gardening, and I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm having a good time learning. I put 8 pods in a bowl, boiled some water, and poured it over them. They quickly expanded, so I moved them into the tray where they'd be for the rest of their lives while they were still warm. Placing the seeds inside the was a breeze. They've also been kept very moist under a grow light for the past two days. So far, I'm a big fan of these. They are a little pricey for us as a family of eight with six small children, but they make teaching the kids how to grow things so much easier. It is something that both my children and I enjoy doing.

It seems to grow and work by itself! Because they appeared to be so small, I was skeptical when I first saw them
5/5

However, in the last three weeks, these have been a huge success! The seedlings burst forth from these pods with such a strong root system. When I was younger, I used to sow seven-year-old seedlings. I used to put 8 seeds in one pod, but now I only put 3 seeds per tiny pod and 1 seed per large seed. Later transplanting is a breeze. I'm in love with these pods!.

I'm very pleased with them
5/5

I'm very pleased with them. I liked how the tops had a small seed hole pre-stamped into them, which made poking the seeds in for my 6-year-old a breeze! They puffed up quickly when soaked in warm water, and my lettuce and kale sprouted in just three days. The netting will make it easier to transfer these to the garden, though I've heard that it should be removed before planting because it won't decompose in the soil.
