Questions & Answers

Is this safe to be added to my normal lawn care regime? Can I also put down the fertilizer and weed control if I am putting weed and feed down in may?

A partial answer and a full answer. It's probably not the best answer. There are 16 different turf types, and each turf needs a specific amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are the 16-nutrients 8 pounds of potassium in a 100 pound bag of this fertilizer would have the following composition 16 pounds of nitrogen, 4 pounds of phosphorus, and 8 pounds of There is a varying amount of these nutrients needed by different kinds of turf Taking my Zoysia as an example, it requires 2 The density of nitrogen in a square meter is 3 pounds. This is feet. This would be a good range for my turf type and all the other four to eight in the bag. There might be some differences between yours and mine. It is best to spread lawn feedings out during the growing season and not feed it too close to the dormant period, which is when rains start falling and the weather turns cooler for warm-season grasses, and hot for cool-season The lawns of some people are fed twice annually, and the lawns of others three times a year Depending on how evenly you would like to spread the nutrients through a growing season, you may need to come in 5 or more times per year. Divide the amount you need each year by the number of times you plan on putting down fertilizer each year based on the turf type you have (search online for "Lawn Care Academy" to identify your type of grass) and divide that by the number of times you intend When Weeds Grow - You should use both Feed plus this feeding, as it is generally in the correct range for that diet. I apply fertilizer throughout the year and sprinkle some Ironite (with some nitrogen and a lot of organic matter for soil bacteria to feed on) on my lawn a few times for deeper green and a pre-emergent to prevent weed growth It is important to invest in an early-action weed control program, such as Prodiamine (or a similar product). It is extremely easy to eliminate weeds and crabgrass with 2, 4D, and Quinclorac. It contains these chemicals along with Dicamba and Sulfentrazone in a spectracide product. Following up with a spot treatment of those weeds if they are ok for your grass type is a good path to go. If there are any remaining weeds after I have controlled the bulk of the weeds, which will be 95% of them, then I use an envelope moistener with a sponge and mix glyphosate with some surfactant and apply directly to Make sure you have a proper pre-exam The 99% of future weeds will be kept from popping up by the emergent program.

On my Scott's edgeguard for an 18 pound bag, 5 on the settings only got me about 3,000 square feet of coverage. It doesn't make sense to me how 5k sq ft would ever be considered useful?

If you want to walk faster, lower your spreader setting. Each will thin out the application a bit to provide a more comprehensive Since I am rather OCD, I use a low setting and do a pass in one direction with half the bag, followed by putting the other half in and going across the lawn at a 90 degree angle to ensure an Furthermore, it is a good idea to buy the larger bag since it is cheaper per pound, then you can just roll the top up, tape it so it stays in the garage or shed until you need it again. The larger bags were not available at the time, so I need to start looking for some now--I used this bag for the first time in 2020. You can often find lawn care stuff at reduced prices at big box stores in the winter when they are out trying to clear shelf space for the holidays. As a result of the products use, my lawn was left with darker green stripes due to an iron deficiency. This was not the fault of the product. Add more iron if this happens to you so the color will be even. For a quick fix, you can spray liquid iron on, if you like. There are also ironite applications, which can be used for a lawn party.

What's the best time to put down lime? Or should I put it down at the same time?

Lime must be laid down when the weather is cool. In any case, I wouldn't recommend putting both down at once because you may experience some burning.

As part of my soil ph improvement, I prepared a soil test. The soil is very acidic, so nutrients have a difficult time soaking up. Can I wait until pH is fixed before I make a decision?

If you want to apply PGF after pH has returned to neutral, then we recommend you wait until it has. Innova organic fertilizers and Humic acid are two products we recommend you check out.

Compared to CarbonX, it offers nice features
3/5

However, it is quite pricey. The first thing I'd like to say is I'm a big fan of Andersons and How to with Doc. As far as I can remember, I have purchased and used everything recommended from Innova organic, the original PGF, SuperJuice, Humic DG, Barricade DG, etc. on a regular basis. Although I cannot ignore CarbonX's importance and endorsement, there is no getting around it. The PGFC and CarbonX were purchased by me, and I have applied them to half of my lawn, respectively. In order to decide which performs better (if either), I would like to see for myself. There is no doubt that PGF Complete is a good Small prill size, humic acid, micronutrients, and the magic 4-leaf kind of flavor make it a great addition to your garden In a 2 to 1 The lack of value is what makes it non-valuable. When you compare PGF Complete to CarbonX, the other big enthusiast competitor, their coverage is simply inferior. The carbonX prill size does not have a fine prill or a 4-in- one A new hot recommendation from Andersons/Doc, it exchanges humic acid for carbon (via biochar). Doc has a lot of experience on YouTube, he isn't the only expert there is. We are proud to work with Allyn Hane from The Lawn Care Nut and Peter from GCI Turf Academy, both of whom represent CarbonX in the turf care industry. In their opinion, the prill size is not a problem or the lack of a 4-pot isn't a problem In a 2 to 1 PGFC complete is often unavailable in the 40lb bag, which is not only expensive but also time-consuming and difficult to transport. This almost seems like a deliberate strategy, considering the absence of 40lb bags during the early part of the season. Like clockwork, the 40lb bags are now available from the moment everyone places their order and submits their application! For the same price, I would like to have gotten that extra 4 pounds I am missing out on. p>This coverage is laughable (18lb covers 5000 sqft at the light rate, with 0. p> Weight 58 pound per 1,000 square feet). If you use the light rate, that would give you 278 square feet per pound. It is important to note that small bags are priced at just the light rate. With CarbonX, you will get 333 square feet per application Weight 72 pounds per 1000 square feet). Therefore, I am not only getting more coverage, I am also getting more N, which is a very beneficial feature in terms of accelerating Bermuda's growth. According to current documentation, one is the best option. Growing at a 5 bag rate will push growth in the early part of the The coverage and value of my policy were further reduced. Given these logics, why wouldn't anyone make use of a better value product to keep this N under control? I will end this discussion with a discussion of the price. A new price of $34 has been set for PGFC. I weigh 88 pounds (18 kg) and I have a budget of Free shipping on orders over 88 pounds (40 lbs) plus tax (tax as a result of ordering Despite the price increases since last season, it still hasn't reached its peak. There is a charge of $39 for CarbonX. I paid 99 (24lb) and $59 for it. It is shipped for just 99 cents (45 pounds) and there is In addition to providing better coverage, CarbonX offers more features for a lower price. As well, the company selling CarbonX is working on reducing the cost of shipping via optimized The prices of Andersons already look high, and they continue to rise. I think they're pricing themselves out of the market when there are other more cost-effective options. It is my opinion that CarbonX will give PGFC a run for its money, even if not to the same extent. Up to date According to my statement, I applied PGFC and CX to half of my lawn so I could compare the results The CX side had more growth than the CX side, but the colors appeared much deeper. On the other hand, the PGFC side did seem to have a more uniform color, but that could be due to the spreader overlap. The only difference was the prill size. I think I will order from CX for my next order instead of. In terms of this PGFC, I simply cannot ignore the cost/value ratio at this time.

[Update] Don't pay attention to pre-election polling results The four weeks of July A total of 7 reviews were written
3/5

To replace the bag I typically use early in the morning, I've ordered a new one A Milorganite/Ringer application will be compared in July. When the goods have had some time to work, and that's the most important factor - I will update this review in a few weeks time. A fertilizer cannot be reviewed until it has been put to work on the yard. That does not mean I am not anticipating great results, quite the contrary. As soon as I'm able to check out the results (and actually get the product), I'll adjust my rating. Since every item on here should start with a one-star rating Earn a star and the rest will follow. *Edit I am 19 years old. It was a very pleasant application the prill size was good for a larger spreader, but it was hard to keep track of visually. It was approximately a foot wider than a typical SeaHume, Milo or synthetic. In one day, I laid down one bag for 4,000 square feet (a little less than 3/4 pound of nitrogen per 1,000 square feet) with about 1/4 inch of water augmented by afternoon rain The plants are irrigated every week. In a few days, I will provide an update. **Edit as follows The 13th to the 16th of July Quite decent green up, but not as good as many other iron supplements, as one might expect given the nature of iron supplements. My lawns have grown very tall and now require mowing every 2 instead of every 3 days to keep them at 2 inches. This is probably due to the nitrogen portion in the lawns that is quick-released, otherwise the lawn is slow. There is unlikely to be enough time to determine spread but I will keep an eye on how long it will take to extend. There are reasons to be concerned about the accelerated top growth (i. e. It looks like there is still one more update to come, but this is not the best value for large lawns. As someone with 4,000 square feet, I can splurge on a new product that can cover both bases in one package, but if I splurged on two or more, I doubt I would keep this on my rotation when you compare the price against the benefits. **Edit as follows I am 19 years old. We've been getting plenty of rain lately, so the green is fading pretty quickly. There is still a lot of top growth, but some lateral movement appears to be lacking. In general, I apply humic acid pretty heavily in liquid form on bare or thin spots, and the zoysia forms right there. This is what I am avoiding so that I can see what it can achieve In some reviews, this product is said to alter the needs of lawns in terms of watering and growth. Even now, when it reaches 90 degrees, I'm still getting the same dry spots in the same places I've always had them **Edit as follows I am 19 years old. has slowed somewhat, so I'm sure the nitrogen released in the rapid release phase has been handed over to this slow release phase. The color of the old growth has faded back to normal, but fresh growth is still attractive. As a whole, I would say you need to apply this several times over a season before you can come to a truly informed conclusions, but I would rate it as pretty average, so I am raising the rating to 2 stars with dings for the price and overpromising. Because I have a warm season lawn, I figure the top growth during the hot growing season won't be for me, which is why I usually only spoon feed with small amounts of liquid nitrogen or slow release. While it doesn't provide a great bang for your buck, it's worth adding in rotation for a smaller lawn if you're interested in trying When it comes to micros and iron treatments, I prefer liquid treatments because they provide a better and longer-lasting result You can get a longer-lasting result that is more enjoyable to put out, but if you prefer granularity, you can play around with Milo/Ringer. The weight is 2 pounds. An easy way to make 1,000 N is to buy a cheap quick-seller You will be fine if you release fertilizer.

To sum up, it's an average fertilizer with a premium price from a guy who uses dye on the lawn and overpromises. A star and a half.

My expectations were not met after a week of traveling
4/5

I have updated it, so please give it a little time to It was wonderful when this product finally became available in the market, but after just one week, it has not been as promising as I had hoped. We watered in this to activate it twice during the week and three times after. It would have been better if the results had been significantly better. The good news was that it was applied to Bermuda in Georgia in 90-degree weather without burning the turf, but the green-up was not as After submitting the application for the first time, please update after 1 month. The Anderson's product was so great that they sent me 3 more bags to replace the ones I had lost. I'm now a firm believer! Although the product is slow-releasing, it took a little more time and a little rain for it to explode, but after several days of high temperatures and very little rain, the yard looked amazing.

I was very pleased with the results
5/5

It was exactly I am simply amazed at the results after four days of only mild watering for 20 minutes per night for two nights, with temperatures over 90 degrees. The neighbors are coming over to see my lush, green lawn and asking how it got so green. Reviews are usually not part of my life, but I just couldn't give this one a Only complaint I have is that the setting for fertilizer spreader given on the bag is not accurate. In addition to Scott's edge guard and 4, I have It is too much to recommend five settings. It was impossible for me to cover 5000 square feet, so I had to cut back to 2, or else I would run out after maybe.
