Despite the fact that it looks dead, my Sequoia seedling is still alive. My death may have caused it to die because it arrived in very good health last fall. Taking the product back and receiving the replacement is my responsibility, not the seller's. Give the seller your contact information and ask what he thinks of the purchase.
It is recommended that you use a simple potting mix made from natural ingredients that do not contain any substances that This simple mix should be complemented by 1/3 coarse perlite by volume. Redwoods require a mix that drains well and is moist yet well aerated. Make sure the pot has a good big drain hole (s). Do not use a It must be possible for any excess moisture to drain and flow away from the pot freely. No rock should be used at the bottom of the pot, and the soil should not be top-dressed. It is best to water the plant to saturation, followed by a good dry down of the soil before the next watering. We can provide you with tips on how to take good care of yourself.
Greetings, I am a native of southern California, and I grew up near coastal redwood trees. There must be something special about fog along the coast with filtered sunlight for the tree. The plants could be grown in Texas if you give them a little assistance. It is really not good for Redwoods to endure extreme weather conditions like freezing and extreme heat. Maybe you should keep him moist during the first few weeks until the tree gets used to being outside. Wishing you the best of luck!
That's all right. It is always a good question to ask and to think about when introducing anything new to your property. Deer are a good example . When deer are in the mood, they will do as they please. Plant your seedling in a cage. It's true that deer graze plant material just to see if it's appealing or not, but they taste it first to know if they do. Many deer pass the nursery on their way to and from the forest. They nibble on them, but we have so many trees that this is not a concern. The coast redwood is a regular part of their diet, do they prefer it? It does not seem so, but deer nibble on plants. In addition to squirrels and goats, they will nibble at the grass. While your seedling is small, it is recommended that you cage it.

The seedlings of coastal redwood and giant sequoia that I buy from Jonsteed are about seven years old. Priority mail delivery is always prompt for seedlings sent by USPS. All of the seedlings are protected and packaged well. They are moistened appropriately. Afterwards, I transplant them into 3 to 7 gallon pots using a decoster mix of commercial potting soil, perlite, sand, and urea. I apply labels of varying quality for the exterior. During the winter, I overwinter them in the greenhouse and then plant them in the spring on the north Oregon coast, a little inland. I have had 100% success with my overwintered plants. In a short period of time, new growth began to sprout on my latest seedlings. Water your plants once a week and mist them daily, as well as mulch them lightly with bark dust. There is a 100% replacement guarantee from Jonsteed, although I have never had to use it. A number of new products are being added to their catalogue. A coastal Redwood seedling that arrived for Christmas is pictured in the picture. It measures 6 inches tall.
One of the coast redwood seedlings was in poor condition upon arrival, whereas the other two were healthy and vigorous. My contact with the seller led to him asking for a photo, promptly offering to replace it, and giving me lots of growing tips for the entire lot. The plants they sell do not always travel well, but their customer service relieves you of that concern. Their products are of high quality, and I would readily purchase They sell their seedlings in the National Park, and I bought one last year, and it not only made it across the country, but has grown well and flourished since then.
Now, it's growing in several large nursery pots. A great job has been done on the seedling! I got here a little distressed (as to be expected) but healthy, and is growing like crazy now! During the summer, this was being shipped to Texas. The following information has been updated in October I am still a big fan of the tree. The tree is growing bigger, and it is beginning to grow bark on the thicker parts of the tree.
My Redwood Tree In A Pot in Southwest Florida has been growing since January and it is doing great sometimes when it gets too hot it gets moved inside to my Lanai which is one of my covered porches and in winter when it gets too cold I can bring it inside. In my opinion, it is a very good value for the price. I have had it for 8 months, and I am getting even When it gets heavy rain, it loves it! I occasionally put it out in light rain, and when it gets hard rain, it loves it as well!.
I researched care instructions from multiple sites and forums for this super little guy before starting him and everything was going smoothly as of the start. During the transplanting process it was moved to a glass pot and placed inside of a greenhouse. The temperature was kept at 80F, and the plant was watered about two times weekly. Three months later, it had grown to about two inches on its own, and it loved the extra room for roots. Then out of the blue i noticed some brown spots at the base and watched as they slowly made their way up the entire plant before it was gone in about two weeks. A Japanese black pine I bought from the same company around the same time is still alive and healthy, but I can't remember for what reason this fella was put to sleep.
What a healthy and vigorous little guy! I'm really happy with my little guy's health! Although this tree may be a few years old, judging by the growth I've seen in the last month, it is on track to grow large and strong in no time. Notice the light green needles on the tips, these are all new growth since I received it. Because this is a small pot). Ensure a healthy little tree by raking and trimming the roots before repotting and make sure the roots are evenly distributed in the pot. Make sure the roots are gently pushed into the soil with no voids and make sure the roots are evenly placed in the pot. Wishing you the best of.
It was told to me that delivery would be between the 11th and As I didn't prepare the soil or pot until the 5th (I waited for delivery), I didn't have the plants ready. It was already mostly dead when I opened the package and is still not doing well now. In the short time since it was potted, it has lost about half of its needles.
It's a beautiful small Redwood, I wasn't too fond of the packaging, however it arrived alive and in pristine condition, so I can't really The tree will provide me with years of enjoyment, and one day I'll be able to turn it into one of my favorite Bonsai trees.
