Hi there! We've found that soaking all of the seeds in hot water for 16 hours is the most efficient way to stratify them. After 24 hours, plant into nutrient-rich, moist soil. soil that is rich You can either clip the rounded end of the Delonix Regia seeds or sand down the rounded end with a piece of sandpaper before soaking them. By removing the seed's outer layer, the sprout will be able to emerge more easily, increasing the likelihood of germination. There are a variety of stratification methods available, so do some research before planting your seeds to see which one works best for you. You could even experiment with different methods to see which ones produce the best results with the seeds! The most important factor in germination success is keeping the soil warm and moist during the germination periods, which are listed on the back of each seed packet. Good day! You can use a Bonsai-specific soil mix, or a 2:1 mixture of Akadama, pumice, and lava rock. 1 ratio, or any other all-inclusive ratio As long as nutrients have been added to the soil, it can be used for any purpose. Akadama is a gritty Japanese clay that absorbs more water than lava rock while allowing for better drainage. Because the Akadama ratio is higher in this mixture, it will require less watering. You can also start your seeds in any type of potting soil as long as it contains nutrients for germination and then re-pot them. Once they've sprouted and grown a few inches, transplant them into the Akadama mix. I hope this has been of assistance! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions. Except for one kind of seed, all of the seeds germinated, which I highly recommend! *Update - br>br> The seller contacted me directly after learning that one of the types of seeds I ordered did not sprout, and is sending replacement seeds. Garden Republic comes highly recommended; I'm a member of their Facebook group, and they genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction as well as offering growing advice.
Update after twenty days: My cat knocked over all 14 of my sprouts, killing three of them and possibly causing the death of one more. I dropped a few more after that, one of which I lost somewhere in the house. They're now in a plastic box to create a greenhouse effect, and the remaining ten, as well as the ten that have sprouted, are doing fantastic. Aside from the flame tree (1 of those), I believe I now have at least 2 of each tree. I read that some require additional seed steps (sanding/cutting?). ) so after the first 30 days are up, I'll give it a shot! br>Attached are the following documents: My seedling kit (purchased separately) with 5 more seedlings on the way, as well as my 20ish sprouts in large pots. br>br>Thus far, everything has gone well. In just ten days, I've grown 13 healthy tree sprouts for 6-8 trees! My cat wants to eat them, and he almost got two of them, but they're now safe and sound. Half of the seeds were soaked in water for 24 hours before being planted in seedling starter. One flame tree seed sprouted while I was soaking it, and it was a lucky break for me. With these seeds, I'm going to wait a full 30 days, and in the meantime, I'm starting round two in diluted seaweed fertilizer. After the first 30 days of round 1, I'll post more pictures.
These seeds are one of my favorites. The Flame Tree seed is absolutely incredible! It took less than five days for that thing to push through the soil. Place them in a bright window and watch them flourish! Some of the other seeds have begun to sprout as well. The seller provided excellent packaging as well as advice and coupons. This is a seed kit that I highly recommend. br>Linda G. is a writer who lives in the United States. br>An update after eight months: br>As of 4/17/2020, this is my tree.
I'm really excited to see how these develop! It comes in a small wooden box with a sliding lid. br>br> Eight packs of Bonsai tree seeds are included in the package. There's a nice selection of different types, including some that I've never seen before. I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop! It also includes small wooden stakes for each tree type. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with the kit, and I'll update my review with pictures once they begin to grow!.
Their seeds are fantastic! My plants have already begun to sprout. The box is adorable, and it's a great place to keep extra garden labels! I haven't used their wooden stakes yet (I'm saving them for the most important project). The photo shows how well my Garden Republic Flame Tree is growing, as it is the first one I've ever gotten to sprout!.
The product appeared to be in good condition and looked exactly like it did in the photo. It's a great gift for someone who knows their way around bonsai, but it's also a great gift for a beginner because it comes with support and you can register your seeds and get a back-up if none of your seeds germinate. However, neither bonsai potting soil nor pots in which to plant the seeds are included in this kit. It only includes seeds and wood stakes for marking your seeds after they've been potted. I haven't started growing mine yet because I haven't bought the pots or soil, but I'm excited to do so. I've previously started bonsais from seed.
It was a simple procedure. I've previously grown bonsai from seed and had good results. Some of the seeds have started to sprout, but only two of the species have done so. One species just appeared out of nowhere and died, which was disappointing. I'm still waiting for the rest of them to sprout, but I doubt it. I usually get results in a reasonable amount of time. When the seeds were soaked, it was clear that many of them were dead. I'd give them a 4 to 5 star rating, but we'll have to wait and see if the others emerge.
I planted the seeds on 1/13/2020 in groups of four trees per rowbr>As of 2/28/2020, the following are the results:br>Flame tree has 0 sprouts, should have sprouts @2/16br>Japanese Black Pine 1 out of four, should have sprouts @2/16br>Black Spruce has 0 sprouts, should have sprouts @2/16br>Japenese Red Pine has 0 sprouts, These trees take longer to sproutbr>Dawn Redwood should have sprouts @ 3/12br>Buddha Trees should have sprouts @ 4/7br>br>I've attached photos of my setup. Verdana Coconut Fiber Potting Mix is the only one I'm using. Compressed Block Brick - 10 lb Coco Coir, Coco Peat, and Coir Pith are all terms for the same thing: coco coir, coco peat, and coco pith. br>Ignore the last row; those are sprouting bell pepper plants. br>I use natural light throughout the day and supplement it with plant grow bulbs. br>br>I hope this review has been of assistance.
