It's about an inch wide at the base and grows wider after that. I hope this information is useful.
A rough estimate would be around 8 quarts, plus or minus.
I'm sorry, but I couldn't help you because I used mine outside and watered from the top after attempting to water from the bottom. Watering from below was not an option because it was too hot outside. I'm not sure how well it would work indoors.
The slits are extremely narrow, barely allowing the wick to pass through. I do, however, wash the container's bottom and replace it in standing water on a regular basis. My plants are doing exceptionally well.

These work well, but it's important to understand the self-watering aspect: some plants don't like wet roots, and this design keeps them wet for far too long if the bottom tray is filled to the brim. So, if you're new to gardening, bear that in mind. This isn't a "set it and forget it" situation where the plant will thrive. You must consider the plant as well as the environment in which it thrives. br>br>I put lettus in these so that I can bring them inside when it gets hot and keep my lettus bar going all summer. Lettus plants do well in moist soil because they don't mind it. I've got three lettus plants in each pot, and they're exploding. Wet soil is fine for herbs. br>br> a lot. If the roots don't get enough air, they will rot, so keep that in mind if you want herbs to thrive in this container. br>br>In addition, one of the bottoms on the four I purchased broke very quickly and had to be taped on.
These were purchased to add to my indoor garden, and while they work well, they are a little difficult to re-fill. I carry a water bottle, and if you're not careful, you'll end up with water all over your clothes. They're straightforward and inexpensive, and they don't look bad. There are no genuine grievances.
I really hope Amazon restocks these. They're ideal for growing salad greens in the dark.
This new self-watering planter was a few inches taller and wider on both sides, but that was fine to accommodate the growth spurt. The pleasant cream color and quality of the plastic pleased me greatly. If it holds up over time, only time will tell. I'm going to buy some new small cacti to start a new family of different species because it was sold as a set of two.
It appears to be of high quality. It goes well with my flowers.
For my balcony railings, I ordered four of these: The painted wooden surface was 6" wide and the size was ideal for moving with a saturated bottom tray. (It's like when it's been raining for a long time!) ) I'm 81 years old and find it difficult to move large plants. Nice plastic quality, but I won't be leaving them outside in the mountains of South Carolina during the winter. We do get a hard freeze now and then, but it isn't very common.
I needed a rectangular plastic planter with excellent drainage, and these fit the bill perfectly, as well as being very well-made. priced! I'm very pleased.
This was purchased due to the fact that it was a large box. It is located on the house's east side. Mini carrots have already been planted. While there is still snow on the ground, these plants should be planted.
