It's about the size of a 16-penny nail. They are more suitable for edging lawns than strips or turf.
I went ahead and did it. I have strong winds here, so it solved the problem, and I have two dogs who like to play on the turf. I was able to find a solution to my issue. Best wishes to you.

On one end, they're pointed, while the other is flat. The nail goes into the wood when the pointy end is perpendicular to a piece of wood and the flat end is struck with a hammer. The idea and functionality are fantastic.
For turf, I've experimented with a variety of nails. These are the easiest nails I've ever used to pull out of the ground. When pressure is applied to the spiral, it appears to work against the nail and back out. Simply save yourself the trouble and purchase proper turf installation nails.
60D 6" nails (50 Lb Box minimum) are typically used to secure artificial turf in standard landscape turf installations. I would not recommend this item based on the small number of nails included (less than a pound). This is not a good deal.
It's a fantastic deal!.
It accomplished what it set out to do. It helped to keep my synthetic turf in place. In comparison to a smooth finish, I prefer the spiral finish because it is more secure on the ground. It is of sufficient length.
These were supposed to be for my edging, but they just slip right through. I'm keeping them because I think I'll find a use for them, but I wouldn't have bought them if I'd known how small the heads are.
I tied some neon plastic ribbon to the end, or rather, I cut a square of it and poked the stake through it and into the ground, so I can see the markers later when I need to find them.
Turf has been installed in 16 apartments, and it is holding up well.
