Questions & Answers

How are they made? Is it in the US?

I believe so, because it's written on the label. The product is made in the United States. The landscape pins have been a great purchase for me. A very sturdy piece with a lot of

Can these be used to spike racoons?

My soaker hose goes through these when I lay it down. It is very easy to use and can be reused repeatedly.

When using landscape cloth as a weed barrier under the deck, where is the optimal spacing for setting staples? Do you prefer seams overlapping, or do you prefer edges?

To prevent the cloths from catching the wind as they are being worn, overlap the cloths and staple every 4 feet or so along all edges and in between the If there is a lot of wind exposure, you may also find it useful to staple the midpoints at the ends of the runs.

Reviews of knockoffs that are bad? So here is the first thing I want to say
5/5

In other words, if you hit a rock it will bend. It's a lot like anything else. LOL, I mean come on My home is in California, and the dirt and soil are packed full of rock. Politics aside, the dirt is hard as rock. A huesnet installer knocked on our door as a kid offering to pay anyone to dig this 2-foot deep hole to mount the dish. My brother and I said yes and finished digging the hole. We had to punch, break, dig, and repeat for an inch. Therefore, that is what I am dealing with, and these have been excellent. The stakes have been used to hold down chicken wire which I use to keep my dogs inside so far I have bought over 1k feet of chicken wire at 150 per role, and 4 boxes of them. Some places don't allow you to nail these in due to too hard or soft of a surface. Unlike hard rock, you cannot go through dirt and I think a lot of people don't realize that since when I hammer in just hard dirt, it goes in hard and strong with no bends. Are people now saying it has a bent in the My guess would be no unless you hit something in that soil that caused it to.

You should not buy these because they are soft, weak, and not sturdy
3/5

The garden staples I use are awful. I have been using them for years. My old rusted ones that I had installed 4 years ago bent the same way as these, I tried to drive them in the same place. I am super unimpressed and unhappy. As a result, I don't think I can return them since I used a few. The worst alternative up to now. The only time I hammered it was when I was trying to drive it into a rock. A much better choice. 6" long, 9 gauge steel, which would withstand a hammering except when driving it in. In fact, it went through smaller ones as well as around them!.

There's no need to worry about them

Their smooth bends make them easy to bend. In comparison to 11 gauge staples I have purchased from other manufacturers, these are quite small. A slight resistance has no effect on their ability to bend. Steel has a more aluminum-like feel to it. I used 30 or so nails and found that nearly one third of them As soon as I received them, I returned them. As I was installing landscape fabric, I ran out of my previous supply and decided to switch There was a huge difference between the two. When I switched over to these, the bending on my was few and far between. Thanks to my near completion of the project, I was able to finish it.

The 9 is the way to go It was overkill to lay fabric with gauge
4/5

They were a great deal when they were between 14 and 16 They were offering me a lot of money, which made me give them a shot, but just to lay some landscape fabric with some rocks on top, it was overkill for my needs. It would have been better to put some fabric at the base of my garden boxes made out of 2x6's rather than something this heavy and the 13-inch height was rather unattractive As far as I am concerned, I've been happy with it. The 25 have reached the end of their lifecycle now In exchange for 100 bucks I can get 200 of the thinner ones for the same price. The plus side of these is that they won't rust away as quickly. It is normal for galvanized items to rust away since it is only a It took me about four months to work in the garden last year with a different brand of galvanized stakes These once looked like they'd landed from the Titanic. . . but I'm certain they still function. It's easier to get my thinner ones into my thicker ones if they don't fit easily. This is the stuff you need for something that needs to be sturdy, but these are just too heavy for something that is held down by something heavier.

If I am intending to drive these into compost or soft topsoil I would not waste my time or money on these My advice would be to stay away from these staples of the landscape unless you're applying them to compost or soft topsoil

In this case, we used about 80 of them and had limited success in driving them in without them bending at all sides. Aluminum and playdoe are likely to be used to make them. Although I had no choice but to use them to finish up a project, I would have gladly thrown them in the trash if I could have. I will repurchase the ones that I used prior to these ones. There was a lot more steel in them and they were much stiffer and better quality.

This is not a very sturdy material
3/5

As opposed to earlier this year when I purchased staples, I purchased these to save a couple bucks. They are used to lay down landscape fabric and mats for use on the The quality of the product is vastly different from that of the competitor. These are the ones you It has a very poor user experience. These staples bend in a variety of directions when they meet resistance in the ground, unless the ground is super soft. It has been at least eight days since I tilled my rows The staples were bent on every fourth or fifth staple even when the staples were 10". Don't go through the frustration of buying an inexpensive model and instead go for the one that costs a bit more.

A Garden Staple that you can't miss
5/5

The weeding in the landscaping is getting to me. My husband and I want to spend some quality time relaxing on the deck and around the fire pit while we are going on our vacation so I purchased some black sheeting from the local hardware store, along with these landscaping stakes, and we have been having fun! In my case, because we live in clay soil and this project was launched in the fall, when the soil was hard and dry, I used a small hammer to actually plant them. The ones I put in were bent a bit while I was putting them in, but not beyond repair. By using the claw of the hammer, I was able to lift them up, bend them back into shape with my hand, and drive them into the ground in another location. My hard plastic edging was held down with these until the stakes arrived. Buying these at the same time as my new edging stakes, I received them first. Wanting to get started right away, I used them to hold down my It is clearly worthwhile to pay the extra money for these. In spite of the rain and the softening ground, the edge of the path was held in place even though the ground curled. These will be my go-to garden staples when the fabric in my garden needs to be redone next spring!.

When it comes to DIY projects, I certainly do the work myself
5/5

It does what it's supposed to do. It makes putting a fabric on a yard easier, but I am still not an expert on yards. A couple of notes I want to pass on to the next customer This is
- You should definitely use something that will hold up better if you have a yard with harder soil as this can bend the product. As long as you don't take any dietary supplements, you will be fine. If you nail with a regular small tip hammer, it might bend. Use a round, wide tip hammer, otherwise it might bend. Please note - If you want to buy more than 100 units, you may want to do so. There are not enough plants in my yard, so I need to purchase more plants. buy extra staples so that you don't run out in the middle of the project. "

You get what you pay for. ". This tool performs the task well and is reasonably priced. I would recommend it to anyone looking to do a little DIY.
