Questions & Answers

Is there any way to paint this?

The following is an excerpt from the DuraTrel warranty statement. "This warranty is void if the materials have been painted, varnished, or coated in any way."

So, if my cement walkway is 48" wide, this should fit perfectly outside of the cement and onto the dirt just outside the cement walkway?

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your message, Kevin. The trellis is 4' 1" in diameter on the inside. There was plenty of room to span my 36" sidewalk using the provided metal anchors and concrete. I believe your installation will be fine for a 48" walk, as long as your concrete pour does not extend deeper than 48" into the soil. In fact, the trellis alignment will be easier than in my installation if the concrete edge is smooth. I hope this has been of assistance. Randy.

Is the 41-inch depth only for the larger canopy or also for the vertical slats? I'm curious because there's a tree about 4 feet away from where this will be installed. ?

The depth, if my memory serves me correctly, is the sum of the two sides. Only a few inches of the top overhangs in the front and back.

Can I use the two side parts and connect them with galvanized steel cable on top of where I plan to plant grapes that are 20 feet apart?

Almost certainly not. The top must become more stable in order for the side panels to become more stable. I'd use a wooden arbor for grapes because the weight will be heavier than clematis climbing up. We used 90 degree brackets for the bottom of the side panels and attached them to our 4x6 landscape timbers for added stability.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY AND THE TIME
5/5

I'm glad I went with the Wellington arbor option. I built it myself, and as a woman who has worked in construction, I knew the final steps of leveling and squaring up the arbor would be necessary. br>After reading the instructions and consulting the parts inventory list, I began separating and tagging the pieces contained within the four posts. Different insert cut-outs were used on the horizontal inner, middle, and outer cross rails. outs for the design rails that run vertically I did discover that four of the top cross rails were missing, which gave me enough time to contact Dura-Flex. Toll of the Trels – I'll get them shipped to me for free. The only question I was asked was about the color of the shirt I had bought. They were pleasant to deal with, and the items were delivered in three days. br>The screws were separated and bagged by length before being bundled together in a single bag. Separate packaging was also used for the four steel ground anchors. br>First, I put together the sides, making sure the cross members were far enough in to catch the screws. The rubber mallet was born as a result of this. br>After that, I attached the two top rails but left them unattached for adjustment. I spaced the four top cross rails apart to give it some support until the missing rails arrived the next day. After those four were in place, I could begin adjusting and centering the corner brace supports. br>To ensure that all of the points of attachment had vinyl to tap into, I used a 2" heavy duty sewing needle. The pre- Drilled holes are useful and made lining up and screwing the pieces into place much easier. br>The only exception is if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself. pre- The four uprights and corner braces all had drilled holes in them. Because this vinyl is fairly tough, I used a 1/16th inch drill bit to tap a starter hole for these pieces after leveling and squareing everything. br>I was happy with the results after gluing the end and top caps on. ALL OF THE SCREWS ARE OUTWARD FACING. I recommend that you devise your own assembly method, as some people work better with written instructions and others with diagrams. I made use of both. br>The best part was watching my husband carry it out front without it falling apart. br>I'm going to make a quick trip to the store. place the anchors in the ground to give it a good footing. hold. br>I took my time with this, putting it together over a few days. It should take about a day with two people. For my FLORIDA FLAME VINES new home, it was a frustrating but rewarding project. Now it's time to pick a location. br>br>WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK AND ENJOY YOUR TIME ONLINE.

Very lovely! First and foremost, nothing is labeled, so this is a difficult project to put together
4/5

Because there are no "right" or "left" side labels, I used sticky notes to mark what I assumed were left and right posts, hoping that I wouldn't make a mistake once I attached the pieces. Because the screws aren't labeled, please measure to ensure that you get the correct ones. It took me about 2 hours to put this together on the patio, and then I had to stand it up to put the cross pieces on top, which necessitated the use of a ladder. Because of the storms and weather we have in East Texas, I decided to concrete the arbor into the ground. It has remained standing so far, despite several days of storms! It's lovely once it's put together, and I'm glad I bought it. I wasn't happy with it while I was putting it together! The problem with assembly is that it moves around a lot every time a new piece is added, but I suppose that's to be expected. It's small and convenient to transport. Because I am a senior, I dug the holes, placed the concrete, and so on by myself; therefore, if I can do it, so can you! I've already planted climbing vines on both sides, so it'll be a permanent structure. If you purchase this arbor, you will not be disappointed. It is both wide and tall, making it easy to walk through. It's fun for me, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it as well! Because of the assembly, I gave it four stars.

Overall, a positive experience - Some parts could benefit from a little more attention to detail
3/5

I was looking for an arbor for our backyard and came across this one. I needed something low-maintenance and with a large enough opening to span my existing pathway - Both of these criteria were met by this arbor. Vinyl that is easy to clean and maintain should last a long time. Some might worry that because it's made of vinyl, it won't be "durable" enough - but that's not the case. Although, as I did, this can be mitigated by burying the connecting stakes in concrete. This arbor has a larger opening than many others on the market, and it spanned my existing walkway, so I didn't have to resurface it. do the pathway edging (this is a definite plus in my book). There are two major drawbacks: The directions aren't the most straightforward - Labeling the parts with letters that correspond to the instructions would be a huge improvement (you'll waste a lot of time figuring out which part is which if you don't label them). To make your assembly easier, sort out all of the different parts and categorize them by their dimensions. More attention to detail is needed on the 45 degree angle finish covers on the top headers - They weren't cut very precisely, so they didn't completely cover the gap. In our yard, it's a nice accent piece. As the vines on each side grow, it will become even more beautiful.

An arbor fit for the grandest of entrances
5/5

This arbor was purchased to complement the two matching trellises in my photo, which complement each other beautifully. I planted musadine vines on the outsides of the arbor and behind the trellises after they were all put together and set up (at the time this photo was taken). They're doing fantastically well. The arbor and trellises are strong enough to support the vines that have already wrapped themselves around the bars, and I'm pleased with the entire setup; I would highly recommend it. br>br>I built the trellises on my own, but my daughter kindly assisted with the arbor and my son-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law-in-law The installation was done by law, so it wasn't exactly a one-time thing. The trellises were no problem on their own, but the arbor, I believe, is too much for one person to handle.

Everything is a waste
3/5

I ordered this twice, and both times, parts were missing or didn't appear to connect properly according to the instructions. There appeared to be missing pieces in the first set. The holes in the second round didn't appear to be cut in the proper locations. I even had an engineer look at it to make sure it wasn't my own stupidity, but he couldn't figure it out either. We ended up with a surplus of parts that couldn't be used anywhere. We rigged it and went with it because we didn't want to box it all up again (good luck fitting it back in the box). This necessitated the use of welding and other materials. It's shaky as hell, but it's withstood some pretty strong winds thus far. Please look somewhere else to save yourself the trouble.
