Questions & Answers

Shade cloth is black for a reason, right? It seems more sensible to use a neutral color. ?

the plastic black also happens to be good at converting UV light from a damaging radiation that would erode the plastic into harmless heat that will only slightly warm the plastic and will not cause any damage to The increased heat is negligible and offset by the fact that the shade also reduces how much light bounces off the plants themselves because of the black color.

Does this, as well as MrGarden's other "agfabric" products, come in knitted or woven forms?

In this fabric, the stitches are knitted together. There is no unraveling when it is cut.

Can good air flow be achieved with this design? My chicken pen will be shaded in the summer because of it. ?

It was going downhill for my small tomato and herb garden in Texas last year because of the blistering weather. I was able to restore my plants with this product. As well as providing shade for the plants, the mesh was good for air circulation. The only thing I wish I had done earlier was purchase it.

The shade fabric has frayed when I cut it in half. Can I cut it back in half without it fraying?

My lace didn't fray when I cut it.

My plants are in danger
5/5

In my yard, the sun can sometimes reach 115 degrees because I live up on a small mountain. The fruit trees I bought started withering as soon as the sun reached them. Just recently, I planted a garden box and bought several fruit trees. Several shade cloths were purchased, some that were tarps with secured edges, and this shade cloth that is just a net. In this one the sides of the garden boxes as well as one side of the awning were filled in. As a result, my plants were saved, as I was able to cut it to fit my needs and pin it exactly wherever I needed protection. All of them are now.

Everything seems to be going well so far
5/5

It is grueling to be outside in the Texas sun. The result of using this 30% shade on them after the season is over will be informed after I return. In the meantime, let me comment on the installation and use of the product. To create a 10' square of 1, I created a circle of A 25-inch PVC pipe is supported by 4 legs (above ground) poles of 6 ft 4 in length. Additionally, I had to tie everything down while in Amarillo due to the windy conditions The gusts of wind of over 40 mph today would have caused me to lose much of everything. A cover with a width of 10' and a length of 20' was available. My structure and another 5' down one side were easily run over, and I was able to cut it off easily. I sewed it on with the plastic grommets, and because of the sun's position overhead, I had to run another 5' wide by 10' along the south side. I ended up covering the whole area for my 14 tomatoes. In my opinion, the things to look for in '1) Material seems to be durable and strong. ' There were no tears for me, and everything is okay. 3) The grommets for attaching to the socks have no instructions. The two discs will need to be clamped together over the material as a way to bind it. The pieces you added were very clever. reel of cable fence wire that I used on two vertical sides of the line to secure it. I also found it easy to run the wire cable through the material. The tomatoes I planted last year - which always burned up in a row of consecutive 100+ degree temperatures - will likely have a longer growing season if my house survives the wind in the Panhandle The sun is shining direct for about 107 minutes. We will be releasing an update in the Fall.

My vegetables stayed fresh in our scorching Arizona heat with this great product

It is a well-made product that works well. In addition to buying it again next year, I plan on building a raised garden bed next year.

As I live in Arizona, it is usually hotter than 110 degrees during summer
5/5

The item was bought for the My home is in Arizona and in the summer it's not unusual to see highs over 110 degrees. My plants were all but dead before I installed the cloth, but I noticed they are now starting to thrive. In hindsight, maybe increasing the shade percentage would have been more effective, but it is certainly doing the There is a lot of cheap material, another review said the material is such as garbage bag plastic, so that is exactly what it is. Even so, it has lasted very well in the wind and rain and the holes make it easy to fasten in any manner you desire.

In the summer, this screen blocks the hot sun! It is easy to set up and easy to use
5/5

As the weather soared into the 100s, my favorite houseplants and pots inevitably began to dry out daily. I set this up as a temporary solution. Almost all of the plants have survived since I had it tethered to the fence to the posts in the yard and the sprinklers kept things moist and partially shaded. Next year I plan to put it up again!.

Shades our garden in the right way
4/5

These Arizona winds have proven to be tough on the fabric. Our vegetable plants will be protected from the sun when we buy this shade. We benefited from the sun shade after struggling to grow plants (tomato, squash, peppers and cucumbers). The majority of them now look much better than before. Attaching the netting to the poles we positioned around the garden bed was achieved with zip ties. It wasn't working for us to attach butterfly clips.

The price and service were both great, and the gift was an added bonus! We received this shade cloth at a very good price / value, and on top of the great quality material, the seller included clips meant for attaching the shade cloth to our greenhouse at no extra charge
5/5

It's definitely worth the money and I would buy it.

However, the seams make the shade cloth unsuitable for summer use
3/5

Unless the shade cloth had no seams, it would be a great product. However, I noticed when the shade cloth was unfolded that there was a seam a few feet from the end, which led me to believe that it would not be very.
