Questions & Answers

I have a baby at home, and I'd like to use this product to get rid of ants. Do you have any recommendations for precautions to take before using this product?

My house has ant trails that go from the floor to the ceiling on occasion. I turn the bait so that the liquid does not run out, then tape it to the wall next to the ant trail with Scotch tape. I tape the bait up high enough that it is out of reach of babies and grandkids. In most cases, the ants will vanish after two days. Then, three days later, they reappearance in the trap. They'll be gone for another two days. The second time they vanish, it's usually the last time I see them there.

Is it okay to use this near pets? My cat is an inquisitive creature. ?

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO To add to the protection, I placed these under bowls with small holes drilled in them, and the ants somehow dragged the liquid inside out to the bowl's edges in such large amounts that the bowls became stuck to the floor with the clear heavy borax liquid! My cat licked the edge of the table and nearly died as a result! She was taken to a veterinary emergency clinic, where she was diagnosed with borax poisoning, which could have permanently damaged her kidneys! TERRO should put a big warning on EVERY ad that sells this, but they don't. Others who tell you it's "safe" are ignoring the people who have warned them! Cats are poisoned by this substance!

In the kitchen, how safe is this product? We have a few ants crawling around our kitchen sink, so we'd like to set up one of these bait stations on the counter. Bad idea? Thanks! ?

According to my research, this product is generally safe. Make sure to read the label and follow the instructions. (READ THE FOLLOWING FOR INDOOR USE) One lesson I had to learn the hard way: Even though it's laced with poison, the sugary syrup is irresistible to the ants. This means that by using Tarro, you are essentially providing free food to others! The ants will be poisoned, and it will take approximately 18 hours for the poison to work. It will take 24 hours to kill them. Tarro syrup, on the other hand, will attract other thriving colonies into your home if you wait 24 hours. They'll scavenge on the carcasses of the previous colony's fallen colony and follow the same rich trails left by the previous colony. This cycle will continue, attracting ants from far-flung corners of the globe and allowing them to establish massive colonies within your home. This is especially true of Argentine ants (which are found all over the world) because they form large colonies with multiple queens. While other ants will fight for territory, this type of ant will not. As a result, the lesson learned is straightforward. Remove all baits and food from open spaces in your home after the first 1 or 2 swarms have passed; Patch all holes in walls, baseboards, and cracks around windows, and use a perimeter pesticide to protect your home. In the coming week, keep an eye out for signs of ants on the loose. If you're an ant, you've probably missed an opening and have a colony in your wall already. repeat! Just make sure you don't forget Tarro and keep replenishing, especially if you're dealing with Argentine ants.

Why is the pricing so strange? It's actually twice as much in bulk! Is there a blunder to be found? Please accept my apologies for the rhetorical question, obnoxious vendor. ?

It has to do with the identity of the "seller." In this case, if you choose "1," Amazon will "sell and fulfill" it. If you choose "2," the item will be "sold" by another company while still being "fulfilled" by Amazon. Yes, Amazon is "fulfilling" both quantities as of this writing, but that simply means that Amazon stores, packages, and ships both items (1 and 2 packs) despite the fact that there are two separate "sellers" in reality. The "sold by" name will change as you click back and forth on the quantity selector. After you've made the switch, look just beneath the price. br> The 2 pack's seller sets the price, whereas the 1 pack's seller (Amazon) sets its own price. I'm sure Amazon buys the 1 pack in large quantities and thus can get a better discount per piece than the other "seller" for the 2-pack. pack.

There have been so many people killed
5/5

I was fed up with ants invading my home and scavenging my crumbs. On a Saturday night, I set out the Terro liquid ant baits. By Sunday, the ant trap was attracting a steady stream of ants. Clearly, word had gotten out, and the ants were eager to return to their homes. I stood there watching as they toiled away at delivering sweet poison to their loved ones back home. I stood there watching and counting the number of ants that would perish. I kept thinking about how doomed the ants' food scavenging mission was every time I looked at them marching to and fro from the trap. I imagined their hordes of people dying slowly - Yes, I was the evil supervillain who was destined to wipe out their entire colony, both the old and the young. There weren't any ants left by Tuesday. My hands are stained with their blood. When you have a lot of power, you have to be prepared to take on a lot of Thanos isn't even close to my level of evil. I killed countless ants by snapping the top off a Terro ant bait unit. br>br>Extremely efficient. 5/5 stars. Obsessed with my newfound villain role, I've developed a sick desire to attract a scavenging straggler from another colony so I can repeat the process.

The new design is a disaster! The old design, which could be cut with scissors, worked fine, but the new twist off tops don't touch the surface, so smaller ants can't get in! Is it necessary for me to construct a ramp for them? Please toss this order because of the stupid new design

I'm not sure if it's poison or if I'm giving them free food
3/5

Carpenter ants had recently appeared all over my house, and I knew it was time to take action. I didn't want to keep buying Raid spray cans because they only kill ants on contact, which means you'll still have to deal with the ant colony (or colonies) because they're hidden in places you can't see or reach. I did some research online and found a lot of reviews and articles about Terro products, which I'd heard a lot of good things about. After some thought, I decided to buy their product in the hopes of eradicating the ant problem. On the first day, I placed one bait station near the kitchen walls with nothing around it, and ants had already begun to approach the bait station after only a few hours. I left the bait station in place overnight, and the next morning I went to see how many ants the bait had attracted. There were a LOT of ants! I had even followed their trail to locate the entrance/hole through which they had begun to emerge. However, no ants appear to be disappearing as the days pass. In fact, it appeared that there were more ants than usual. I decided it was time to set up more ant bait stations in the area (as shown in the photo). Also, the first bait station is likely to be depleted in terms of bait. It's been a week and a half, and the same number of ants (at least) are still roaming around, and the number of ants does not appear to have decreased in any way. I had also purchased the liquid drop baits, but that will be the subject of a separate review. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to believe that I'm essentially providing free food to these ants rather than eradicating them. I had even recently read in a review that Terro had likely changed up their formula a little, so maybe that's why it seems like this stuff isn't working for you, but it did for others (back when the formula wasn't likely changed). I read that completely eliminating and controlling the infestation(s) could take up to two weeks, so I'm still waiting, but I'm a little disappointed so far because I expected to see fewer ants by the day, not more. By the end of the week, I will provide an update. br>br>UPDATE (August 11, 2018): Unfortunately, I've dropped from a 2-star rating to a 1-star rating. from a five-star rating to a one-star rating a rating of five stars I put down a two-dollar wager. I gave it a one-star rating because I wasn't happy with the results I was getting in the first week, but the box stated that I should wait two weeks to see complete control. I still have a lot of ants in my house two weeks later (exactly two weeks after the product was delivered). Throughout the days, I've used a total of two boxes (12 bait stations). I had replaced some bait stations and discarded the first ones I'd used because the ants didn't seem to go inside them after a few days, so I figured I'd just have to use new ones. "Complete control may take up to two weeks," according to the box, but it doesn't appear that the ants have dwindled in number, as there are still a large number of them coming in and out. I was hoping that this would help me get rid of my ant problem, but I think I'll look for another way to get rid of their colony or nest.

It's great and it got rid of my carpenter ant problem
5/5

My carpenter ant problem was solved thanks to this product. I used three of the six in the pack to get rid of a swarm of ants and their queen that had taken up residence behind the dishwasher. By day three, the ants were completely gone, and they haven't been seen in over two days (they're all gone, see updates below). To keep the dog away, I covered the baits with a plate (leaving one edge up) and taped it to the floor with packing tape. br>br>5/26/16 UPDATE: I bought TERRO outdoor liquid ant bait, and it worked great on the wooden fence and near the trashcans. br>br>6/4/16 Update: The ants have vanished and have not been seen since. Thank you so much, TERRO! br>br>7/11/16 Update: For the past two months, the traps haven't been seen. There hasn't been another ant that I've seen. br>br>Leave a question in the comments section below if you have one.
