Questions & Answers

Do you apply this product directly to the ground (allowing it to be exposed to sunlight) if you're using it outside? Is it simple to get rid of the poison?

Yes, it can be used both inside and outside; sunlight is not an issue; it should be picked up fairly quickly; however, it is easy to clean; however, do not overapply.

Is this a protein-based bait or a sweet bait?

Protein is the name of the substance. Maxforce FC Carpenter Bait Gel, a sugar bait, is highly recommended as well. Giving ants a choice is always a good idea because they might prefer a protein (granule) or a sugar (gel) bait.

I've been putting it out for quite some time now - Why are they removing it from its nest?

They wouldn't take it away from the nest; instead, they'd bring it back to it. They wouldn't touch it otherwise.

When used to cover the perimeter of a house, how much surface area will it cover?

I used it in small amounts all over the place, rather than in a perimeter line, and I still have some left over. I suppose you could draw 5 inch lines around the perimeter or something similar. Best wishes to you.

Apocalypse is a term used to describe the end of the world as it currently exists Let's talk about CARPENTER ANTS for a moment
5/5

br>In our back bedroom, I'd seen 1 to 4 ants per week since spring. So I spread some diatomaceous earth around and the ants went away for a while. However, as the weather has gotten colder, their numbers have increased to 8 to a dozen ants per day, which makes me nervous to think about how many I'm missing! I decided to pull out the big guns and buy this granular bait after trying a homemade Borax/sugar/water bait that only killed the ants unfortunate enough to get stuck in the sticky trays and die there without passing the poison on to their friends. br>I didn't realize it was intended for outdoor use or that smelling it would cause domesticated cats to revert to their carnal roots and attempt to break down the door to get to the bait traps. But, so far, I've been able to use this stuff inside without killing or injuring anyone other than the ants. The carpenter ants were uninterested in the dry granules, but I could tell they were thirsty because they were drowning in my cat's water bowl. So I made a sort of oatmeal out of the poison and water, and voila! It was time for the ant feeding frenzy to begin! br>After 24 hours, there were dozens of live and dead ants in the room, with many of them moving extra slowly and clumsily after eating the tasty poison. br>Once Operation Ant Armageddon is finished, I will update this review.

This stuff is effective
5/5

Continue reading for a tip! When I was doing pest control, I used this product and it was fantastic. Customers were ecstatic to see ants scavenge the bait. Ants loved to dig up the sand from beneath brick pavers, in particular. This stuff used to be difficult to come by in my area, and only licensed applicators were allowed to purchase it. This is no longer the case. Always read and follow the label for instructions on how to apply the product and important safety information. br>This evening, I gave them about a quarter teaspoon to see if they were interested. I put some more down for them to work on for the night after it was nearly gone in an hour. Within a few days, the problem should be resolved. This is essentially the same product as the Advance Carpenter Ant Bait, and the active ingredient is the same. The only difference is that the flakes in this bait are smaller. br>Before applying, make sure you shake the bottle to redistribute the contents. I believe that after sitting on the shelf for a long time, the slightly oily good stuff settles on the bottom of the container, making the top portions less appealing. br>Unused portions should keep for a long time if kept in a cool dark place, possibly with a piece of plastic between the lid and the container. br>Wishing you all the best.

Being Ant-Free Is The Way To Go
5/5

I'm naturally green, which is why it took me three years to figure out how to deal with an ever-increasing amount of garbage. A smorgasbord of holistic treatments is being used to combat an escalating house ant problem. I used a mixture of diatomaceous earth and cinnamon to line the baseboards. Around the entranceways, I sprayed elaborate lemon and lavender concoctions. I used so much vinegar on the floors that the entire house smelled like a salad. Nothing seemed to work. I was at a loss for what to do, so I went to the dark side: professional pest control services. What's more, you know what? There's no way I'm returning. br>br>I used a mix of Maxforce Gel (a sugar-based product) and Advance 375A granular powder (a protein-based product). Because colonies can actively switch their dietary preferences, it's critical to provide them with both options (smart little bastards). ) A few pointers: (1) Walk around the perimeter of your house to see if there are any ants coming in from the outside; if so, place the gel directly in their path (use a thin line of gel or several small globs to allow the most number of ants to feast), and sprinkle some powder nearby. (2) Walk around the interior of the house, placing a small dab of gel / pinch of powder at sites where you've previously seen ants enter, then returning in a few hours to see which spots have the most activity, and then adding more bait (several globs, small pile of powder). It's easier to clean up if you put the gel and powder on cardstock (I used cut-up strips of junk mail). In the first few days, I'd come back twice a day to resupply them with fresh food, and then only once a week after that. br>br>If you have a moderate ant problem and keep the powder and gel in good condition, you can get away with buying just one syringe and an 8oz bottle. However, if you're dealing with a large colony, you'll probably want to get the 4 pack and a larger bottle. If it gets to be too much, you can always share with your neighbors.
