Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried loading up a truck with firewood and hauling it up the deck stairs?

Yes! I've used the Polar Utility Cart to transport firewood and pull it up the four steps to my deck's wood rack. The key is to avoid overloading the trailer, which will make it too heavy and difficult to maneuver.

The support legs under the handle, according to one reviewer, clip their legs in the back. Is this a problem that other owners have had?

I really like this cart, but I'm afraid it might clip the backs of your legs if you walk with your hands behind your back to pull the cart. This cart was designed to be pushed from behind, so I haven't had that problem.

I'll have to push it up and down a 40-degree incline. Are the support legs going to be a hindrance?

I agree that this could be a problem. I've noticed that when I'm walking through my pasture and have to cross a swath of grass, my support legs get snagged. However, when compared to the Polar trailer, using other carts has proven to be the most effective in terms of not tipping over and maneuverability.

Selected User Reviews For Polar Trailer #8376 Utility Cart, 65" x 29" x 29" Lawn Cart

Except for one thing, I really like this cart
3/5

Everything about this cart appeals to me except for one thing, which is perhaps the most important. It cannot be tipped forward far enough to allow the load to fall to the ground. Its front is so long that it hits the ground before the angle is high enough for the load to fall out. Which is ridiculous; who wants to shovel it out as well as fill it up? Before they started building these, I don't believe they tried it out with a real user. So I'm going to get a sawz-all and see what happens. all to it, and try to cut off enough of the "nose" so that the contents will fall out when I tip it forward. Best of luck to me!.

Let me set the scene: a steady, sturdy, maneuverable cart
5/5

I'm 74 years old, retired from teaching, and live on a hilly 1 acre lot just east of Stone Mountain in Georgia. My health is excellent, but I have issues with my knees. Prior to our arrival, the yard had been neglected for several years. I'm the one who takes care of the plants. To get my supplies to the area where I'm working, I needed a stable, sturdy, and maneuverable cart. I needed something that would allow me to stack gardening equipment, bags of dirt or fertilizer, plants, and other items, as well as move it uphill and downhill. This utility cart is the closest I've ever come to "fitting the bill"! br>Despite my poor "stacking" skills, the large wheels are positioned in such a way that the load is balanced. I can pull or push it over uneven ground, tree roots, mowed lawns, mulched areas, and gravel even when it's fully loaded. It's exactly what I was looking for. A wheelbarrow would never be able to get where my cart can. br>At first, I thought it was a little pricey, but after only two days, I changed my mind. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY I SPENT ON IT AFTER THREE DAYS OF USE! br>The box was big, but the cart was packed tight. There was no damage or dings. It was simple to follow the directions; With only a little help from my son, I assembled it myself. Since then, it has been used on a daily basis. It's the most efficient material transfer I've ever experienced. br>Would I tell a friend about it? without a doubt br>I can't think of any cons, except that I wish it had a cup holder so my water wouldn't spill. This could be fixed with some careful stacking. It's an outstanding cart. The money spent was well spent.

This is a fantastic product, and it is the best in its class! After conducting extensive research to find the best al- I was overjoyed when I came across this little gem
5/5

Because most wood carts have individual wheels mounted on sprockets on one side, there is no load sharing and it is very easy for the wheels to get out of alignment, the most important feature I wanted was a solid, strong axle that spans the width of the tub. The cart is easy to assemble, and the instructions are clear, and there appeared to be several spare parts for high-speed applications. Wear parts are included, as well as some extra washers and spacers to fine-tune the wheels. Assemble quickly (for these screws, use a power drill with a hex bit and don't over-tighten). In 15 minutes, the cart was up and running. I believe they should include some sort of rubber protective covers for the exposed bolt ends, which could be screwed or glued on, as they appear to be likely targets for snags and nasty cuts. br>br>I've used the cart for everything from moving loads of firewood to transplanting shrubs so far, and the ability to store liquids in the base was a huge plus. 1 out of 5 stars This is a far superior product to all of the wood carts, wheelbarrows, and other similar items I've used in the past. Bravo on a product that is well-designed, well-thought-out, and well-executed.

MY FAVORITE TOOL FOR THE GARDEN! I adore this cart because it is so simple to operate
5/5

This item is extremely durable. I'm an 80-year-old woman in good physical condition. It can be difficult for me to load a 40-bag potting soil cart, but I've been able to load about three bags at a time and pull the cart with ease! Plants in pots should be moved around the yard as needed. easy. It's built to last. I loaded the bricks into the cart and drove to the location where I was going to build my brick pathways. It is not a problem. I agree with the reviewer who suggested that the cart's design be changed so that the content is unloaded rather than shoveled out. The cart will tip, allowing the majority of the load to be dumped, but the final portion of the load will require assistance. I had no intention of spending so much money on a cart. But I'm so glad I did because it'll last for years and be useful in ways other than gardening. Taking garbage to the curb is an example of this.

This is the eighth wheelbarrow I've owned in my life
5/5

This is the eighth wheelbarrow I've owned in the five years since I purchased a home with a hilly, rocky, and overgrown yard; its seven predecessors all succumbed to the rigors of hauling logs, clay soil, and boulders up and down a steep hill. This cart is different! It's been 8 months and there hasn't been a single dent or fracture! Heavy loads are much easier to maneuver over uneven terrain thanks to the large solid wheels. I wish I had purchased this cart a long time ago. Never again will I use a one-wheeled or small-wheeled wheelbarrow.

It's always in demand! We received the massive box the same week we placed our order
5/5

My husband put the cart together, and I put it to good use right away. And once more. My husband then snatched it and went to work with it. It has a lot of power. It's not heavy. It isn't nearly as big as it appears in the photo. It would be difficult to move if it were any larger. My husband sprayed a clear coat on the chrome rims of the tires before assembling them to keep them from rusting, and it appears to be working. While hauling it backwards up the steep hill behind our house, I was concerned that the legs behind the wheels would clock me in the backs of my heels. Hasn't done anything like that. I'm a tall woman with an average build. We used to own a famous wooden cart that was similar to this one. This is a less heavy option. It has the same amount of power. I'm content with myself. I use it on a regular basis, and one of my favorite applications is I load one of the large plastic tubs with rope handles into the cart, fill it with water, and transport it to the garden, where I soak my plants thoroughly before planting them. My tools were able to fit right next to the tub. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> It's been two months, and it's still in use. My most recent purchase was 40-pound flats of canned goods from one of the bulk warehouses. I loaded up the cart with dogfood and other supplies, then wheeled it down to the basement storage shelves! My husband put this cart together and sunk the screws into clear bathroom caulk, making it waterproof while still allowing me to undo it if necessary. What a character he is. He is extremely well-informed! Put that big tub to the side! Happy!.
