Compared with the peat pellets sold by the pellet factory, these sure look and feel like they will fare much better. It is a lid with a higher grip, which will be helpful for starting plants of varying germination speeds. No need to take the lid off and put it back on Make the move early so that half is in front of the rest. I like that it can accommodate both size and can require both at the same time. I dislike the fact that the refills cost as much as the Jiffy filled tray (so thin I have not yet been able to reuse it longer than a season). It's just something to keep in mind. The generic ones I was going to get at my local store didn't fit my needs so I took a chance and got these instead. I am surprised by how durable they are- In the pictures you can see that I am pushing on the plastic fairly hard and it has barely been bumped. Furthermore, I like how the footprint for each unit is just a relatively small square, about a square foot per unit. You will find it much easier to grow in a small space because of this. A huge advantage of this tray is its high dome, which is slightly higher than a generic tray. The seedlings to be planted have a higher dome and are thus older and more durable. In the next couple of days, I plan to plant vegetable and herb seeds in this with 42mm jiffy peat pellets, and keep this review updated as things I'm impressed with how they're coming along so far. This is the first revision- * I have been growing seeds for six days now. It took three days for the sprouts to appear. I haven't experienced any condensation dripping out at all at the edges of the lid, which is impressive. The lid seems to be keeping the humidity in well.

The parts for the order did not arrive. The number of trays I received was instead 3, not The pellet holder (noted as #2 in the picture) was missing from all of them. I also only received four vent caps to adjust the airflow (each unit needs two), and Amazon only offers refunds if I return the item. There are only a few parts I need Although they seemed well made, without all of the pieces, they will be of limited use.

In this year's planting season I bought seed starter domes for the first time. My first thought was that these would not be very durable, but they were very affordable. As I hydrated the peat pellets last night, I got them out and started them. This mini greenhouse really made a great impression on me. The first impression I got when I removed the trays from the box was great. There was an immediate difference in thickness and strength between them and the standard trays from big box stores.
