The Seedfactor Seeding Heat Mat is equipped with the most up-to-date 7. SJTW 5, 5MM thickening, 105 degrees high temperature resistant cylindrical SJTW 9-foot water-resistant power cord (thicker than standard power cord, solid, high-temperature resistant), which is safer and more durable, and ensures the stability of seedling mat safety work.

Questions & Answers

Is a separate thermostat required?

Yes and no are both correct. It isn't equipped with a thermostat that regulates the temperature. It's either 10 100% on or 100% off by manual control. It is a constant heat source that will raise the medium's temperature by 10-degrees. The temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the surrounding ambient air temperature. The temperature of the mat will vary depending on the ambient room temperature, sunlight, the size of the soil (medium) container used, the surface the mat is placed on, and the temperature of the water used to moisten the medium, among other factors. You can get one with a thermostatic control built into each individual mat if you want to keep your temperatures under control. Alternatively, you could use this product or several of these mats, connect them to a properly rated power strip, and then connect the power strip to an independent thermostatic control with a sensor probe inserted into your medium. The thermostatic control is essentially a power strip that, using a set point and the above-mentioned sensor probe, turns on and off whatever you have plugged into it. They are available for purchase on Amazon.

Is it possible to use it with a temperature controller for homebrew fermentation temperatures of 68 to 72 °F?

Yes, a thermostat must be purchased separately, but I set mine to 78 degrees and it will reach that temperature within a few degrees. I hope this helps.

What is the maximum weight capacity of this mat? I have a 15-pound tub that measures 23 inches by 14 inches and measures 23 inches by 14 inches. I'm 20 pounds and would like to know if this mat will fit me. ?

I'm strong enough to carry the load. It looks like the mats found in reptile tanks. Depending on the amount of soil you put in the tub, the heat may not reach the top.

What is the wattage capacity? Is it possible to use it on 220 volts?

This should not be used in 220. There will be a blaze as a result of this.

I've been using this heat mat in my beetle colony for a few weeks, and today I discovered their cage filled with smoke
3/5

The heat mat was melted and smoldering after almost catching fire. I thought it would be safer than a heat lamp after reading the safety instructions, but I'm not so sure now. I believe the issue was that the mat was partially rolled up, and the parts that were in contact melted the plastic cover; perhaps if it was kept completely flat, it would be safe. I used it in conjunction with a thermostat controller, but I had trouble getting it hot enough; the other times I checked it, it was barely warm.

It appears to be in perfect working order

Raised the soil temperature from 67°F to 80°F in a short period of time and kept it there. The 48" x 20" mat was purchased as follows:  .

We need to deceive Mother Nature, and this is a cost-effective way of doing so
5/5

Depending on when we see our last potential frost in the spring, the growing season here in the high desert can be relatively short. Getting a head start so we can plant as soon as the weather permits means chitting early and getting some sprouts started so we can drop some plants in the ground. We were heating a space in a log cabin near our gardens, but it was quite costly for several months if the weather was bad. We tried a heating pad and now own several from various manufacturers because they work so well and pay for themselves within a year of use. They keep the roots warm, which promotes growth, and we cover them at night to keep them warm and place them under LED grow lights 12-hours a day. days per week So far, it's been a success, and we'll probably add a few more mats in the near future. We've also wrapped it around some potted plants (like our indoor orange trees) to keep the roots warm rather than turning on the heat (I'm not sure if it was this one, but they're all about the same). There are no complaints, except that they could be a little bigger because a 10" x 20" mat quickly fills up once you start working with small pots. I chose number 5 as my number. They get five stars because they work, are cost-effective, and have eliminated an otherwise costly heating bill.

Seeds are toasty and warm
5/5

During the night, these keep the seeds warm and toasty in their greenhouse flats. It's wonderful not to have to be concerned about them failing to germinate. br>Recent changes: Seedlings germinated in half the time they normally do@.

It does exactly what it says on the tin! I'm using it in an unusual way that I don't think is recommended, but it works well for me
5/5

My cat kept drinking the water from one of my aquariums, which caused the water level to drop and a mess. I bought him a fountain because he refused to drink from his own or the dogs' water. The water, however, was clearly too cold at the time. This mat (approximately a 1. 25 inch thick) was placed underneath it. 25-gallon fountain) and sat around for a while. It took about 24 hours to warm up that much water to a drinkable temperature, and he now drinks from it. If you have a cat who claws things up, I wouldn't recommend this, but it works for me. Now that the weather is getting warmer and planting season has arrived, I might be able to put it to good use!.

Simple to operate - Seed germination has been improved
5/5

It's simple to use and is about the same size as a seed tray. I've been starting seeds indoors for a few years and usually have two or three varieties ready to plant. 4 pots in which no seeds germinate, and 3 pots in which seeds germinate. 4 stragglers who take a long time to show up in comparison to the rest of the tray. I put this together about ten days ago, and only one of the 18 pots appears to be a straggler or a failure. Some of the seeds germinated in as little as three days!.

AN EXCELLENT HEATING PAD
5/5

During the winter, when my baby Sulcata Tortoise is forced to stay indoors, I got this for her. br>It's a hit with her! It's where he spends all of his time. br>I've turned my other Tortoise friends on to it as well. They were making use of heat lamps. br> The heat lamps were driving up their electricity bills, but not with this pad.

The seed mat is very sturdy
4/5

It takes some time to flatten. This was used to heat a small space in the basement where a homebrew beer carboy was kept warm. It's not quite what it was designed for, but it gets the job done and consumes very little power. It is packaged in a tube. It's rolled up in a type box. It will flatten out if you lay it flat and place something heavy on it before turning it on. It's not the most attractive packaging, but it gets the job done.
