Questions & Answers

How much angle is there in the beam of light?

GE responded that the beam angle is 60 degrees, but it does have some drawbacks. The beam area is relatively small because the light bulb is barely 2" wide. This is in comparison to similar grow lights with a larger The fixture is great and the light seems close to sunlight (closer than any other grow light bulbs I've seen), but the bulbs will only keep plants from growing past 18" x 18". This is not so bad if you are just going to light a single plant, but if you want to light an entire grow room, this can be a problem.

Can these be mounted on a clamp on fixture?

Five is the number we will use. I bought one from Lowe's that is five inches wide.

There is a 35w 6000 Kelvin bulb on Amazon, for $10 less, which is about the same bulb as this one. ?

Neal Hicks, you would have to say no to that bulb as it is a grow light, which means both its color and the light output are geared specifically for growing plants, and will not have the same color or style as the 6000k daylight par38. Growers who want good lights for indoors will enjoy these
5/5

There are a few of these lights I own, and they work very Initially, when I started planting indoors, I was impressed by the reviews for gooseneck LED lights, so I thought they must be great. This was not the case. The reviews were not always honest, and I wonder if some were purposefully false. The difference between these GE grow lights and others is not very important, but I'd say these It's important to keep in mind, though, that clamp lights are relatively heavy, and so your light fixture or clamp light must be strong enough to support the To avoid burning leaves, you should keep these lights away from the plants. Because these lights run hot, you should keep them well away from the plants. Low-power bulbs are lighter and do not produce much heat, so there is no fire hazard if you're gone for a long time. Personally, I stick with GE brand neon tubes and Philips 15-watt LEDs. (I believe the 16 watt LED bulbs, if I had to choose one type, would be my preferred option, as they are in that sweet spot between not weighing down the fixture too greatly and not getting too hot, which is still powerful enough for doing It would be nice to find a GE LED bulb that is about 16 watts because they are superior lights). put the last part in parentheses because my adjustable drafting light, which was cheap, gave out with the 30 watt bulb, and ever since then I never leave the house with 30 watt bulbs on since if I hadn't been home, who knows Of course, this is not a problem if the fixtures are strong and you know they are sturdy. My goal is to share what happened to me, as an individual who has only just begun to grow himself, and have learned from the experience.

You would not expect such a bright bulb to be so big
5/5

This bulb is sturdy and well-made, and it appears bright and durable. A hair under 5 inches in diameter, it is made from To ensure your lamp is the right size, you will need to measure it. A lamp holder I bought fits the bulb only if I remove the lamp shade. However, the bulb itself has some hefty cooling fins to let off heat, so I'm pretty sure it'll be fine to leave on for extended periods of time. I plan on using it for my indoor plants since my side of the apartment building is shaded during the afternoon. With some clever positioning, I am hoping that one bulb will be enough. It puts out a ton of light in a cone. A lot of direct light isn't necessary for hardy indoor plants.

The opinions of a Horticulturist, but they should be taken with a grain of salt
4/5

The deal out there is definitely better than this one. It works great, does what it is meant to do, but it certainly falls short of what I hoped GE would be able to There was just a little bit of light coming from this bulb, and I was quite disappointed. I agree that the room is very bright, but there is only a limited amount of space for working. Although the bulb appears large, the lighting component itself measures about half the diameter of the whole thing. I'd like to think we've got Five twos. Plants can be placed in a 5ft-square area of bright light. If you put a small cover on your table or a flat underneath, you might almost get a table. It fits in a gooseneck desk lamp well, and I appreciate that it has a full spectrum of light, blue and red don't benefit my cacti much. I like to use a timer with this. There is not a single bit of heat. I have said before that there are better options, but I might return to it. A new one/different one was ordered to compare it against. The other bulbs I have are halogen the LED bulbs are the last. I'm just playing around, but so far I'm feeling a bit disappointed.

Light for indoor plants that is very powerful
5/5

A lamp of this type should have a light output of 50 umol/s, which should be sufficient for most These are the two devices I bought and I have them on for 14 hours every As far as I can tell, I haven't noticed any problems with the heating. Lighting seems to have a positive effect on the plants, as they keep growing.

Make sure you get these while you These lights have been criticized for their high price and low value in a few reviews
5/5

A lot of people have said that you can get more light for much Even if you assume that the cheaper lights have the same spectrum, this is still true. There is a reason why these lights are so heavy and large It is a means of dissipating heat. Lights in this power class are forced to use fans to keep cool because they are cheaper. A high humidity environment, on the other hand, can cause the electronics controlling the fans to malfunction well before the LEDs. They are the best lights at what they are designed to do and are built to last. On top of that, they are tank-like lights that are built to last. Plants should be grown. Please take a look at the photo I've attached to this review of my indoor container pond. With these lights, I have been able to keep these lilies blooming continuously for the past four months, despite their necessity for A LOT of sunlight. GE just sold off its lighting business, the only down side to this move. The situation is so If you want to grab them while you still can, you should do so soon, because I do not believe they will be available for very.
