Mat has been internally shortened! There is a potential fire hazard

I have updated There is a fire hazard. When power was restored to our homes, we were fortunately there to witness the event. A BURNING HOLE appears in the mat after an internal wire was cut. THERE IS A LOT OF SMOKE. I DO NOT think this is cool at all. We ran a variety of tight tests prior to the near disaster, including tests for heat dispersion, dispersion, and accuracy of the meters. According to our opinion, the TEMPERATURES were off by at least -1 degree The average temperature is 3 degrees F, and most are 17 degrees F. The temperature is 6 degrees Fahrenheit.

A little over two weeks was the lifespan of two units

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to hook everything up and get the mats up and running when I first ordered 2 of these mats. It was terrific that the price for the thermostat and heat mat was so low until I found out the heat mats no longer worked. I plugged in my first unit a week ago, and it died the next day. There was no heat on the mat, but at least the thermostat was accurate and told me that the soil was 15 degrees cooler than on The outside of the second mat ceased to work half a week later. It was working just fine in the center strip of the mat, but not its rest. It was very high on my to-do list to be satisfied with this product, but having both units fail within two weeks is I am doing more research and will spend a little more money next year on a quality unit to jump start my peppers since I am the first time doing it. They didn't work for me despite my intense desire for them to do so.

The seedling heat mat is 75" and the digital thermostat is 20. I am using these heat mats in my seedling greenhouse, the mats fit into a 48" wide shelving unit and are keeping my seedlings warm with a cover over the shelf and a little air circulation. There is no problem with the thermostats. The temperature goes about 2 degrees above the set temperature before it shuts However, I had to spread the plug prongs to keep them from falling out of the unit.

The product is well made and easy to set up as well as accurate in its I appreciate how easy it is to set up and use, and how durable it seems

I used a digital thermometer and probe to double check its temperatures, but the temperatures do not vary. Five degrees Fahrenheit. It was up to 85° in 5 minutes after being plugged in, the sensor probe was placed in a cover, and the temperature was set. I am getting anxious to replace my old system as it is over 30 years old. It was after trying a mat with two smaller mats that I ordered this unit. I've replaced my old system with this one and it works great. It can comfortably fit four full-sized seed trays on this 48" mat. It's only drawback might be that there are no multiple outlets since it can handle more than one heat mat but to make it worth it, add a $3 three-foot extension cord It was no big deal to shop at the outlet. It is important that you are able to start difficult seeds at consistently accurate temperatures. Considering the price, this unit is well worth it.

It took Vivosun's customer service no time at all to replace the thermostat that went bad

As I set up my thermostat over the weekend, I was disappointed to find it completely dead when I plugged it in. After trying several electrical outlets, I even read the directions just to see if there was some trick to being able to turn this device on, but to no avail. I like the heating pad, and this seems to be a decently made product. My next step will be to use just a heating pad by itself once this is returned. In response to this review, customer service responded within hours of noticing it, offering to send a new thermostat to the reviewer right away. Vivosun received my order today and it appears to work well. From reviews I read, I suspect a bad batch of thermostats was shipped or there may have been some other quality control issue, but the customer service was outstanding, thus my higher.

Inaccurate to the point of being laughable

It has been quite some time since I have used this product. Unless you are a professional HVAC technician, you should not attempt to calibrate your thermostat yourself. It could result in 100 or nothing or something completely different if you set it to 79. It may be cheaper to simply turn your cuttings or seeds into a soup rather than buying a.

On one mat, I can fit 4 Jiffy seed pot trays, as well as 2 ice cube trays filled with A short time after filling up my seedling starters, I discovered that they were filled with The start of my seedlings is going to be great! In any case, I am not certain about the temperature controller since the mat is only supposed to warm up to 20 degrees above ambient temperature anyway
