I have five different mats from at least three different companies, and I've never experienced this before where the mat got warm enough to melt the plastic. After plugging it in an hour earlier, this happened only an hour after I had put it in, so thank God, I didn't put hundreds of dollars worth of plants on this mat, let alone put my family at risk. Overall, this 30$ mat cost me a 50$ chair cushion plus money lost because they want me to return the mangled mess before I can receive my refund. The other half of the set is so terrifying that I am afraid to use it. There was no response from the company when I tried to reach it. I would not recommend it.
