There are two of these heat mats with a temperature control in my house and they are excellent. The first one I purchased was 20 x 20 and was made three years ago. There aren't any problems with the product, I've got a 48 x 20 one. It works well for me. Second one in a year, it looks good. As of this season, I have planted 249 plant varieties in 3x3x3 pots, and I plan to plant about 50 more in the next few They work so well. I am simply amazed by how well this combination mat works. In order to make a bread box for proofing dough, I acquired a large crate from Costco. This is an insulating lining that I bought to keep it warm. It is perhaps overkill since it is so large, but my bread has never risen so well. My favorite feature of it is that it has a temperature controller, so that when it's cold in my house I can still ensure the perfect dough temperature. As of 2020, I still have this heat mat, and it worked excellently for a few months. I love how much heat it produces, and my tomato seedlings were impressed with how warm it is. My three growing trays were laid out flat on the mat. One of the seedling cells was probed for heat with the temperature probe. The thermostat/controller that came with the mat should be plugged in. You have to plug that into a wall outlet. After some time switching from C to F, the temperature was back to C. Setting it to 75 degrees with soil that is warm from being outside, the reading was 66 degrees. The temperature had dipped to 60 degrees that night when I checked on it. I checked the temperature this morning, and it is 53* in my basement, which is the ambient air temperature. A reflective grow house on three grow trays with lids fits inside these 3 trays. Despite the fact that the mat has yet to warm up to the touch, it still feels cold. It looks like it was dead when it arrived. One of the first things I noticed when I unpacked the product was that the thermostat/controller had a rattle sound emanating from it. Only option on Amazon is to return it?
