The propagation of this seed is perfect. It works great. I wrapped it around a glass cookie jar, which I use to keep propagates, and it maintains a temperature in the mid 80s. You cannot touch the glass because it is not hot at all. You can very effectively simulate the feeling of being in a greenhouse. I would strongly recommend it. The small ones I purchased are for the window sill and for proofing my sourdough starter and bread.
Connect it to the mat and place the seedlings that have been planted on it. It doesn't matter whether you add a thermostat to this mat it heats continuously at low temperatures, and never gets hot enough to burn. Plug it into a 110 outlet and it's ready. In addition to being water-resistant, I like that it is sturdy. This mat has extra space on it that I use to water with my Puure water filtering pitcher. It slowly but surely warms up the water to a few degrees warmer than room temperature.
When running without a controller, it's been as low as 78°F and as high as 85°. Earlier today, I finished germinating the first batch of pepper seeds for this year. In 3 days time, the sprout emerged, and today, on day 7, I found the last one. I noticed that my germinations were much faster than they were before I heated them. Among the seeds I sowed, 100% germinated (though I'm sure luck played a part, as well).
As a result of the cold weather here in the northeast (where I live), I decided to get this pad since it is practically impossible to germinate plants outdoors this spring. The pad was easy to set up, and I was able to warm the soil in small planting pods so that I could plant. Insulate the floor well if you intend to use it. The way I did that was to turn an old baking sheet upside down, drape the pad over it right side up, and then put the baking sheet back upright. Under the baking sheet was a reservoir of trapped air that worked exceptionally well as an Seeds were covered with fiber pods and those pods were placed in a pad. I subsequently watered them thoroughly. To protect the air inside the pods, we turned on a grow light over the pads and threw clear plastic food container covers over them to create a tent that kept the air The pods were watered daily for the first five days, and by the sixth I had dozens of As a general rule, seeds will germinate if you provide them with warmth, light and moisture.
If necessary, I will make changes to this later, but I am over the moon with these Only a few minutes later, their temperatures shot up to almost 80 degrees. Overnight, they were on while I was asleep. I woke up to beautiful, humid trays today. They have done very well and are very happy with this mat. I wish I had bought it The customer service is outstanding and the quality of the product is excellent.
The answer is yes! The thermostat was set to 75 degrees and I used the heated mat. As a general rule, I keep my house at around 70 degrees There has been a constant temperature of 74 degrees today. It took three days for the veggie seeds to germinate. Unfortunately, I left the heating mat under the seeds until before all sprouted, which (I believe) led to most of my seedlings being Approximately 10 days after I planted my seedlings in a container, some had already developed their true leaves, so they could be transplanted to a larger container. I used organic potting soil (3 parts), perlite (2 parts), and coffee grounds (1 part) for the seeds I planted. There are tomatoes, onions, broccoli, green beans, lettuce, cabbage, marigolds, lavender, coneflowers, cucumbers, okra, and yellow squash in my garden. In the early stages of germination, everything germinated between 3 and 7 The lavender should be dried for at least 7 days.
This year, as soon as the temperature outside dropped and I wanted to heat my Kombucha, I bought this mat. I ordered my first one, but it worked for about a minute before stopping. The water didn't heat back up even after I kept it on my jar. It was sent to me as a replacement after I returned it. In the same way, that one too did this. As a consequence, I ordered a new mat to try to save my Kombucha. As a result of the low temperatures in my batch, mold grew. It is too late to rescue it, and I will also lose the SKY I paid money for. The risk of using this product is too high for me.
