I'm sorry to hear that you had a misunderstanding about the manufacturing country. First created in Japan as a garden tool, the Hori Hori knife has since spread all over the world. These garden knives are made in different countries at the moment, but they still are called Hori Hori by Japanese people. Knife makers in China make Hokuru Hori Hori knives. In order to ensure the highest quality of our knife, we control it's manufacturing process. Thanks for your business.

The soil in my garden is very heavy clay, and it becomes very hard when it is It will take me a while to dig up ten years of lily bulbs from This knife is suitable for the job?

In addition, my wife uses hers for a variety of purposes, and the woman for whom this one was purchased uses hers to tend her high school green house as well as her home green house It may not be ideal for digging bulbs out of the ground once the clay has softened it can be difficult to dig when wet, and impossible when dry. If you are not able to get clay in that shape you can dig bulbs out of the ground. At the halfway point. Several decades ago, I worked alongside ditch diggers digging trenches for water and sewer mains, and listened to them complain about the difficulty of It was decided to use the backhoe as a solution. They also used to shake the bucket a lot when they were trying to get wet clay off the tines of the digging machines. What are the chances of it working? We don't really have soil around here, so maybe if you catch it at the right moment when there is a little moisture in the A little dirt and a lot of rocks make it up. My experience is that this tool works well around here and in prepared soil, but I am not familiar with anything that can be used It might be the timing of the rain, not too dry nor too wet. Despite all this, it is an excellent tool because it is sturdy and easy to operate. However, you cannot sharpen clay that's why it came into being as the devil's creation. I wish you success.

Save money by shopping online! To compare the quality of the three different Hori Hori knives, I bought them from three different sellers, thinking the more expensive knife would be better
3/5

The mistake I made was mine. Just the packaging was different, but the knife (and case) were exactly the same. As they say, you don't always get what you pay for. . . I tend to think a more expensive item is of better quality, but these were the exact same knife! You'll save some money if you go with the GARTOL "brand". That's why I love it so much.

As soon as I used it for the first time, the handle cracked
3/5

It is hard to pull weeds out of the soil where I live because the soil has a lot of clay in it. As I was pulling up dandelions in the garden, I heard a loud "CRACK". The hori hori seemed durable enough to withstand the prying, but as I was going to the washroom, I heard the following sound. On closer inspection, you can see a hairline fracture running all the way up the handle of the knife. There is no way to make it up to you. Moreover, the handle is rectangular and the corners are square, which makes it uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. Instead, I would suggest going with a Nisaku NJP650.

This is not the way to go
3/5

Not all the flavors in this product are full-tang. Although it may be a continuous piece of metal from end to end, there is such a significant decrease in width where the handle begins to send the impression that the product is liable to damage. This was a gift for my wife. It failed to last more than five minutes after it was opened. However, it broke into pieces at the above mentioned weak point, but was bent otherwise.

The tool is multifunctional and great
5/5

My first reaction when I opened the box was that the teeth are very sharp. It is definitely something I would handle with care since it can easily cut through the Upon carefully inspecting the tool, I noticed that it had a nice weight to it and felt good in my hand. On closer inspection, I also noticed that the wooden handle was smooth to the touch. In the tip there is also a neat point. The thick leather case is definitely the way to go if you don't use the device. What made it even more exciting was that it was marked down the middle with soil depth measurements. The fact that this particular model caught my attention was one of the reasons why I selected it. It was about this time of year that I decided to trim my ferns for the season, so I put it to good use. Two different types of ferns have been growing in my house, although I'm not sure of the names. There is one that is very tall, like a fan, and another that is shorter, more stick-like. Both types of knives can easily cut through both. Even though it wasn't as easy as using shears, it was still more effective than using scissors. Whenever I wanted to slice through a handful, I grabbed them near the base. As of yet, I haven't had a chance to try it out on the tastes of other people, but I hope to do so soon. Considering its price of about $20, this is an amazing multifunctional Despite that, I plan to update my review at a later date, as the gardening season is rapidly approaching.

Gardeners will love it
5/5

Using the Hokuru Hori Hori Knife for digging out tree roots, planting the seeds, and pulling weeds. Trowels have been replaced by this tool. A shovel is my tool of choice It is stronger and it does not bend, so it is much more efficient. With it, you can dig much deeper into the earth than you can with a With this saw, you can easily saw through roots and other obstructions that a trowel or shovel find difficult. The knives also come with a hand whet stone for sharpening them, along with a very attractive and durable I consider it to be my most useful gardening tool already after using it for a short period of time.

I have found this to be the best Hori Hori Gardening Knife I have ever used
5/5

It is great to have access to this tool! An essential tool for any backyard gardener or outdoor enthusiast, the Hori Hori gardening knife does not disappoint. It is a particularly good one since it is a full-tang It has been a long time since I have used this knife and the only issue I have had is sometimes the rivets let the wood on the handle come undone. Wrap a piece of string around the handle or tape the handle up for an easy fix. The wood handle should be coated with linseed oil to keep it protected. Neither my knife nor the sheath have broken yet, but I make sure to clean the knife and put it back into the sheath carefully. The bottom line is that if you are a gardener, you will not regret purchasing this knife.

I have never seen a better gardening tool
5/5

There is a lot to like about When planting, it proves to be extremely useful. Digging comes naturally to it. I slice open the bags with it. The root of my problem is cut. It's also safe because it's enclosed in a sheath. Additionally, it came with a hone that could be used any time the tool needed sharpening. Planting holes are so much easier when the pointy end is used. This makes widening planting holes very simple, at least in my case. In order to drill holes, I use a 20v drill and a 2" auger bit. This tool will allow them to be widened.

Would you prefer a wooden handle made from redwood or redwood? As a result of the full tang construction, it is a bit heavier and bulkier than my old hori-tensor It does what I want and fits my hand, though the handle is a bit hori
5/5

There is a lot of wood to choose from (I'd have to pay more for an item with as much beauty as this one), the serrations are wicked sharp, and the leather sheath is quite.
