It took an incredible amount of effort to put this together. 'Please note that, while we have designed this product to be as easy to assemble as possible, the polyester sheet, which is required to be rigid, can be a little tricky to handle,' the instructions state. 'Br>br>'A little tricky' is an understatement. We recommend that one person holds the polyester sheet in place while the other fits the bolts. 'br>br>'A little tricky' is an understatement. To put this together, my wife and I fought for over an hour. br>br>These were purchased in pairs. There are some pins in the package that resemble cut-off wire clothes hangers, but the instructions make no mention of them. After the first one, we realized that those pins could help keep the sheet in the frame until all of them were aligned, so you weren't trying to start screws while the sheet was trying to fly out. br>br>It's been so frustrating, but I'm hoping it'll work now that it's all put together.
I needed a simple garden greenhouse for winter crops and came across this item that seemed to fit the bill. The instructions stated that two people were required for assembly, but what was not stated was that each person required 5 or 6 hands to hold things together. The plastic was so stretched out that it kept breaking. My husband went to the basement to look for alternative screws because the plastic holes didn't line up properly and the screws were too short in several places. It was finally put together three hours later, and we didn't kill each other in the process. It looks fantastic and will make a lovely addition to any garden, but I feel sorry for the people who are putting it together. It should've been a lot less difficult. Because of this, I would not purchase again.
the support of his wife I'm glad I read the negative reviews because they assisted me in anticipating and avoiding some assembly issues. Although I was able to put it together on my own, the curled plastic cover made it difficult to slide the end rims on and line up bolt holes. As stated in the directions, use two people. Working on a garage floor with a tarp on the concrete or on grass to avoid scratching the plastic, one person holds the rim in place while the other works the rim onto the plastic, inserting bolts and tightening nuts. To keep the plastic semi-intact, I used some scrap 2X4s. flat on the end while sliding- rims. A human would have sufficed, but 2X4s don't seem to mind if you scream at them in frustration. I made sure not to overtighten the handle and applied a small dab of Elmer's household glue to the nuts before leaving it in the garden for a few weeks to see what the October sun and rain would do. THEN we strewn it over some lettuce and arugula that had previously been used to feed rabbits. We've only had one frost (in Piedmont Virginia), but the lettuce and arugula have already succumbed to frostburn. free and rabbit-friendly free. The non-profit, by the way, This item was delivered to me as quickly as if it had been purchased directly from Amazon. Thank you for your quick response, Steve9273. Oh, and re: the end- looseness in the vents On the one loose vent (the other stays open or shut on its own), I put a small piece of waterproof packing tape on it, folding over one end so I have a tab to grasp. Even though we don't pull on it much, a month's worth of weather hasn't bothered it yet.
Inexplicably difficult to put together: This would be a nice product if it came assembled; the plastic is sturdy, but it's wound too tightly. It's impossible to keep it unwound and have it fit into the grooves. I am a patient person who usually has no trouble putting things together. br>Please reassemble and re-insert them. box. They'll do a lot better in terms of sales.
Better quality control is required, as well as higher-quality plastic. This is one of my favorite designs. The shape and size are ideal for larger winter crops that would be too large for a traditional cloche. Unfortunately, the plastic is extremely brittle and has shattered in some places, broken in others, and developed dents and ripples where the tension torqued it. To ensure the highest level of quality, A screw had been left out of the kit. This was extremely aggravating. I ordered two, one of which had a strange extra sheet of plastic welded halfway across the dome plastic. Overall, I can live with the flaws and work around them, but for the price, I would have expected better quality control. This is a great $30 investment in my opinion, but it may not be worth the asking price for you.
My 14-year-old son and I were able to make it work in the end, but I'm not convinced that our method was the one intended by the manufacturer. br>br>Only a smidgeon of a recommendation.
Parts are misaligned and/or do not fit together. To make it work, I had to purchase nuts and screws from a hardware store. In addition, two holes were so far off that they had to be re-drilled. drilled.
Time and money have been squandered. Purchase is not recommended.
