The majority of the time, everything is fine. It's fairly durable. A pair of slatted shelves. Water is able to pass through with ease. So far, the side hinges appear to be in good working order. It maintains the lid's open position. br>br>The extra small screws are too small to fit into the lid's hinge holes. They slip through the cracks. Then there are some brass ones that don't match the steel ones (a minor issue). I had to rely on my screws to complete the task. br>Polycarbonate is a pain to deal with. I'm switching out the poly on the lid for acrylic. In addition, if you bend the push points too far, they will break. (This is merely a remark).
I was expecting a lot out of this, but we were let down. It's simple to put together, but the quality is very poor. The wood is thin and easily broken; in our case, we split wood in several places just after screwing it together. Overall, it's poorly constructed, with little attention to detail and flaws such as incorrectly spaced pre-drilled holes. holes that have been drilled br>We don't think it's a good idea.
It's made with a lot of sloppiness. It was simple to put together, but one of the hinges is missing. It's inconvenient that the screws don't match. It has a light feel to it, and the pieces don't fit together well. If I hadn't already assembled it, I would return.
The greenhouse's overall appearance is similar to what I had anticipated - It'll most likely last two weeks. 3 years. The wood isn't of the highest quality, and neither is the finish, but for the price, it seems reasonable. The boards that are supposed to hold the plants on one of the two shelves, however, have large cuts in them. The boards have 25% been cut through 25 - 75%. I have no faith in them to hold plants, let alone soil and water. I emailed Amazon a photo, which they forwarded to the seller. I was promised a replacement as soon as possible. It was around the beginning of March at the time. It is the eleventh of May. Perhaps it became entangled in the Suez Canal behind a large ship? Maybe it's on that ship, which Egypt is still holding. But, even if an unforeseeable disaster is delaying it, I would expect a note to say so. This year, I'm not planting any early spring seedlings.
This item is not made of a long-lasting material. It has a balsa sort of feel to it. It's orange, not the natural color it appears to be in the photos. On the panels, there is an opaque film that cannot be removed completely. To figure out how to remove it, I had to fiddle with it quite a bit. With all the white film bits that are stuck in the edges and that I can't get out, it looks trashy. Some of the hardware is incorrect for assembly, and some of the screws are so small that they are nearly impossible to install. There are no demarcations for interior shelves, so you'll need a level. No floor. I made a floor out of one shelf. Oh, and don't forget to enlist assistance. Even when flush, it's quite wobbly if you're off in any way and not flush with the corners. Because of the gaps in the doors, pests will be able to get in. Overall, it's extremely flimsy. I don't think the stated shelf capacity of 44 pounds is worth putting to the test.
I suppose it was alright. What you pay for is exactly what you get. The doors do not close completely. There is a 1/2-mile distance between the two points. 1 in gap. I hadn't considered the fact that the bottom is open. It's still cold up here, so I had to figure out how to keep everything shut. It appears to be very appealing. It was also incredibly simple to put together. It took me about 30 minutes to complete using a drill and clear instructions. Because it is very light, make sure you have it with you so it does not blow away.
I liked that the panels are made of polycarbonate and that the makers used cedar, but that's where the similarities end. The wood frame pieces were warped and not square (as shown in the photos). I knew I should have returned it, but I was confident that I could make it work. Because the metal parts for the greenhouse didn't come with the right size screws, I had to use some of my own wood to straighten them out. I should've returned it instead of attempting to make it work. Next time, I'll either build my own or purchase a metal-framed green house. This was clearly not a good investment. Do not make a purchase.
This is perfect for my indoor plants, but I wish there was an option to buy a bottom for it as well. I built one myself to protect my floor from moisture, but having one made of the same material and specifically for the greenhouse would have been preferable.
