To avoid stepping on the seller's toes, a fan with a LOWER flow rating than your filter is generally preferable. If you rush the air through the filter, the carbon will not have enough time to absorb the impurities, and the filter will not function properly. br>br>And, yes, any 6" inline fan will work fine because the ducting is identical. If you want to connect the filter to the fan directly, you'll need a butt connector, just remember that. The majority of 6" fans have a 350-watt rating. This filter has a CFM range of 400, which is ideal for it. I've seen these filters for the past 18 years. If you're concerned about stealth and neighbors, once a year is a good rule of thumb. Best of luck!
Is it certain that it isn't a pre-existing condition? filter? That was exactly what I had in my bag.
If the humidity of the air coming out of a septic vent is greater than 70%, you'll need to dry it out some way. I'm not sure if they sell desiccant-filled filters like this, but you'd need something like that in line before the carbon filter to keep the humidity under control. Humidity levels above 70% will saturate the pours in the carbon and render the filter useless until it dries again.
The media can't be replaced. That is a one-time deal. time use. I hope this information is useful.

This filter appears to be of reasonable quality. I've been growing mine in a bloom-only tent for the past ten months. Before the chop on the fourth harvest with this filter, I could smell outside quite well. As a result, I believe I'll need to replace this before the next harvest, despite the fact that many other users claim to have gotten 18 months out of it, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. However, it's possible that others are using this for both veg and bloom, while I'm only using it for bloom, allowing a much stronger odor to pass through more frequently. br>br>I made use of Vivosun. Before this, there were iPower filters and the G- Hydro is a far superior alternative. With the other brands, I got a lot of defective units or ones that didn't last even six months. The G- Hydro isn't all that much more expensive, and it's well worth it. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I bought a new one in April 2021, and it smells even worse than the one I just disposed of after a year. So far, I've been very dissatisfied with the replacement I've purchased. I'm going to contact G- Check with Hydro to see if they can help me. I'll post another update later.
The filter is nice, but there is no way to ship it discreetly.
I dumped all of the carbon inside, assuming it had gotten in by accident at the factory, but it kept coming out like a pepper shaker once I tapped on the filter! Wow! I figured it was just a bad one, so I opened the other one and immediately noticed that it, too, contained carbon. Imagine using this as a filter for your intake! You'd be sprinkling carbon particles on your plants! I was using it for that purpose because I was in the blooming stage of my grow! I would have ruined every single one of my friends!! If you get one of these, please use caution. Check to see if any loose carbon comes out by turning it upside down and tapping on it.
After installation, the tent gave off a strong odor. I've placed an order for a new Vivosun. With no change in setup and the odor problem resolved immediately, I unplugged the Ghydro filter and plugged in the Vivosun filter to the same AC Infinity fan. This filter was completely useless.
When it arrived, it was broken. Charcoal shards were strewn about the room. At first, I assumed it was normal, but the replacement filter I just bought had none, whereas this one was constantly spewing charcoal. I had it refunded but was unable to return it due to the mess it had created. I'm not sure if it was just the one I got, but I wanted to let everyone know.
It's perfect for what it's used for right now. If anything changes, I'll post an update in a few weeks. I'm not sure what I'll do with the carbon filter just yet, but I'm already pulling air through it and it's working well. I have an Infinity air conditioner connected to it.
Outside of the grow box there is no odor at all at all at all at all at all It's ideal for growing invisibly. I have a 6" exhaust line that runs out to the outside. Very pleased; on my next grow, I will replace the same filter with a new one.
