A smaller version of this product was purchased for my daughter as a reading nook. It supported me firmly when I anchor mounted it to ceiling studs. The weight limit was no problem for me since I weigh 160 pounds. We needed to lubricate the chains in order to make them quiet, but now it is quiet. Although good ball bearing joints are available on Amazon for just $30, I wish it came with a rotating joint. It is a favorite with all of my kids. To make the space look more festive, I covered it with a purple blanket, added two memory foam pillows, and added a purple silk pashmina scarf. It would have been nice if we had found a thick enough beam in the location I wanted to hang with one chain instead of two chains, but it still turned out cute. My kids have messed around with the macrame rope, so it's come unwound in a couple of spots. But it's in great condition and still holds up.
I would say that it is large enough for two kids or a teenager/adult to sit comfortably. Our kids were able to curl up in it without their legs pressing against the hoops with the addition of pillows (actually a dog bed). I spray our macrame with Scotchguard so that it is waterproof. We feel fine out there, but I gave it a good coat of Scotchguard just to be safe. At our house, it's definitely a hit!.
