Questions & Answers
These were just bought. 700 lb per spring, according to the packaging insert. If you haven't ordered these yet, I don't think 700 per spring is out of the question once you get them.
I'm not sure. All I know is that they work. Packaging is no longer available.

They're nothing more than chain extenders. I've even tried bouncing up and down on the swing and found that the springs have no give at all. I had no idea what the term "700 pound rating" meant. But, if you double it for two springs on one swing, it now has a capacity of 1,400 pounds, or will it not spring until you reach that weight? In any case, they didn't really add anything to my setup aside from some chain length. Meh.
The springs in the chair were designed to support 300 pounds. It was later discovered, however, that 200 was the upper limit. Even with her cat on the swing, my daughter, who weighs 103 pounds, isn't close to the limit. So I'm not sure what happened to the other spring. But we're happy with these springs because they can support up to 700 pounds, so we know it won't break and throw our daughter and the chair to the ground like the other one did.
I had no idea that the hooks' orientation mattered so much. The holes in the metal correspond to the original ones on my swing, which are oriented in the same direction. These spring hooks are arranged in a clockwise direction from one another. As a result, I am unable to use them with my swing. I'm looking for ones with all of the hooks facing the same way. However, this product appears to be a good fit for what I needed based on its appearance and feel.
There may be a time and place for these, but they aren't appropriate for a porch swing. They're so tight that they won't budge. We can't tell the difference between the spring and the solid chain because they both feel the same. When swinging, they make a loud creak. br>br>In the end, all they do is lower the swing by 4 inches and increase the noise.
We had misplaced a spring during a move, and these were ideal replacements.
If they were appropriate for my setup, the product appears to be excellent. On both ends, the hooks are not pointing in the same direction. I'm looking for coils with both hooks facing the same direction, as these are facing the wrong way.
I was concerned that these hooks would not fit because I had previously purchased a pair that appeared to be identical to these from an Ace Hardware store and returned them because they did not fit. I was already planning on enlarging the hole in my swing chair to accommodate these hooks. They did, however, fit perfectly, and I will now be able to enjoy swinging in my canopy swing chair.
When my parents moved to their new house, they lost the springs for this double swing piece. These were a spur-of-the-moment purchase that turned out to be fantastic. It perfectly holds the swing in place and makes no noise or grinding noise. When two people are sitting on the swing, they don't appear to be having any difficulty. One or two dogs are possible.
