It includes metal posts that are designed to fit inside the vinyl posts. Although they are meant to be buried in the ground to secure the unit, I believe they can be used for deck attachment. One buyer did a great job of putting the legs in planters and then cementing them in place. You'll still be able to move it around if necessary.
I wouldn't hang plants on this because of the plant's weight, not to mention the risk of the hanger damaging the vinyl!
It's 7 feet across the wood's outer edge, with a small opening; if you can, make it bigger.
7 ft wide

We bought some concrete weights with brackets to anchor the pergola and then placed it in some painted wooden planters in our backyard, and it's pretty sturdy considering the low cost. To complete the look, we added vines and ivy. Now is a wonderful time to sit.
Despite the fact that it was a bit difficult for me to complete on my own, it was still a fun and rewarding project. It also appears to be fantastic! I would strongly suggest it.
We discovered that the support beams were 5 when the hardware arrived from the manufacturer. They're 5" tall, but four of the slots on the posts where they're supposed to go are five inches wide. 25" tall. I tried calling the manufacturer's customer service number, but it went straight to voicemail, and I didn't get a call back. We routed out the slots and started putting it together. However, in less time than it took to modify and assemble this junk, I could have built it out of lumber. BEWARE OF THE BUYER- BUY IT IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!.
With the help of two people, it was put together in just over two hours. It was simple to do and it turned out beautifully! I'm ecstatic to have received this!.
We draped a sun screen fabric over the top and anchored it in pots half-filled with quickcrete, then filled the pots with potting soil and flowers. This pergola is a lovely addition to our pool deck, and it looks better than any we've seen for twice or three times the price, plus it comes with a 20-year warranty. It was delivered ahead of schedule due to its quick shipping. This book comes highly recommended.
not easy. simple! When I first took it out of the box, I thought to myself, "Oh my goodness, how am I going to put this together?" It required some effort. You'll need help putting all of the legs on because one person can't do it all by themselves. It also comes with steel inserts for securing the legs, which I didn't use when I first put it together. I put the thing together first to see how it would line up, then inserted the steel inserts one by one in the back only. Because this is on a paved patio, I removed one of each paver and discovered that each leg fit perfectly in the space left by the pavers. I dug down eight inches, inserted the steel inserts, applied a thin layer of cement to the top, and then stacked the legs one by one. It wasn't easy, but it did get them straight. I didn't want to remove any more pavers for the front end (not to mention the fact that they wouldn't budge), so I bought a couple of large "L" brackets and screwed them into the x where the pavers met, then filled it with cement and secured each to the pergola legs. I imagine this would work for all legs, but we have some pretty strong winds here (today's nearly toppled a tree), and the pergola DID NOT MOVE AN INCH! WOO HOO! Now, I'm a 65-year-old woman who enjoys doing DIY projects, so this was quite a task for me, but it only took me a few hours to put it together, then to dig the holes, etc. It was definitely worth it, and the end result is quite lovely!.
Due to a lack of screws and anchors, I had to go out and spend money in order to erect the structure. br>I like the way it looks, but I'm disappointed that it didn't come with the necessary hardware to assemble it. Before shipping, the company should take more steps to ensure that everything is in order.
Love it! It was exactly what I needed at a reasonable price, and it only took my friend a few hours to put together. It's fairly sturdy, but it swayed a little on a recent windy day, so I'll try to add something else to help it stay put.
