The posts are 110" apart and 8' high, resulting in a 10' x 10' x 10' x 10' x 10' x 10' x 10 The louvers open to the point where the slats are vertical, but they only close to about a 45-degree angle, so they do not completely close. They do move from one side to the other, allowing you to alter the angle at which the sun is blocked.
Although the decorative caps on the rafters are applied, you could choose not to use them, which is not recommended because the caps are what seals off the inside of the rafters.
The interior dimensions of the upright posts are 110 x 110. The top measures 151 x 151 inches in total, not including the decorative overhang.

It's stunning and ideal, and it's made our deck much more family-friendly for activities and hanging out with the kids. We've tried three other metal frame/canvas canopy types in the past, but the winds from storms ruined each one within a year due to where our deck is located. So far, this arbor has withstood every storm! It appears that the recommended pressure wash will be all that is required. Everything went smoothly with the shipping! Everything was included in the package. It took my husband and me one day to put it up, despite our average handyman skills. It goes perfectly with the Home Depot railings that we recently installed. I like that I can adjust the Louvers as needed.

It's well-made, well-designed, and durable. My contractor and his 12-year-old son installed it on my wood deck in about 8 hours. Louvers are great for controlling the amount of light that comes in, but they don't keep the rain out. I can't express how much I admire and enjoy this pergola. Don't be hesitant to place an order; you won't be sorry.

Because I live in Canada, I purchased from a Canadian distributor who provided me with a competitive price. br>Seven boxes arrived two days after they were ordered. br>I had this built for me by a contractor. He had hoped to have it up in a day, but it took two skilled men two days to complete. BEFORE YOU ORDER THIS THING, DOWNLOAD AND READ THE ASSEMBLY GUIDE. br>There are several small "extra" items that should be ordered at the same time, the "base moldings" (sold separately) being the one that threw me off. I would have bought them right away if I had known they were available. br>My structure is supported by four 4x4 pressure-treated poles that have been cemented into the ground. Other ground-securing options, which are sold separately, are available. br>Construction took a long time, required at least two people, and was not simple. br>The items were manufactured in China. br>The components were not perfectly fitted and finished. br>Some of the supplied hardware was the wrong size and of poor quality. br>With the help of a plastic stick, the louvers can be adjusted. A plastic hook is attached to the end of the product. I'm not sure how long it'll last because it's not very durable. br>br>After all of that, it does appear to be in good working order.
