Do you think this spike belongs in a dogwood tree?

It is unknown to me what dogwood trees are like. In addition to my Hickory, Ash, Maple and Spruce trees, I have used this spike on other trees as well. It is a good job they all did. As a result, it grew larger and produced more No, I am not a 'gardener', but a person who uses fertilizer on the lawn, shrubs, flowers, The dogwood tree is a deciduous one, so it does not seem to be harmed by the spikes The method I used with my deciduous trees has worked well for me.

It was a bit of a challenge to set up these tests since I live in a brand new development so all the trees on my block were planted within a week of each other
4/5

It must be said that I was a little sceptical of what these things would do. It was a bit of a challenge to set up these tests since I live in a brand new development so all the trees on my block were planted within a week of each other. The directions were followed and were pounded in without issue at the dripline with the trees and the bushes not showing any signs of cracking or flaking. My trees are now remarkably taller and fuller than practically all of my neighbors' trees a few months after planting. Despite my best efforts, my bushes continue to grow in a wild manner. In fact, I gave my neighbor down the road a few stakes that I had laying around and he experienced That's good stuff for sure.

There is no comparison to the tree spikes used by Joe
5/5

It is a perfect case study for this Jobe tree spike to replace our trees in our new neighborhood. If you look down the block, you'll see one or two trees that are at least 2 to 3 feet taller than the rest. The homeowner will tell you these are the trees that were planted with On the block by the pond, a Maple tree held onto its beautiful red leaves for weeks longer than usual I couldn't have asked for more. Despite the pain and discomfort, there was a secret ((I asked the homeowner). There is only one difference between the same tree stock, the same soil, the same planting crew, and the same climate This is Joe's.

The herbicide kills the In the package, it should explain that spikes driven into grass around trees kill the grass around them
3/5

As opposed to using liquid fertilizer, I decided to use these spikes. Their package indicates that they should not be positioned closer than 36" to the tree It was necessary to incorporate the young trees and bushes into the grass of the area since they are only a few years old. Even after we received a heavy, soaking rain the day after the spikes were driven in, the grass has turned brown around the area in which they were driven in. However, even after using a rubber mallet to drive the spikes in, the rubber cap included didn't seem to be enough to prevent the spikes from breaking. I am still waiting to see how the fertilizer will affect the trees and shrubs in the springtime, but I probably will stick to a liquid fertilizer that can be applied more strategically.

To hammer spikes into the ground, no longer use nylon spike protectors
3/5

To hammer spikes into the ground, no longer use nylon spike protectors. They used to attach a nylon cap to hold the spike in place and protect it from damage with hammer hits needed to bury the spike. It is now apparent that some cheap clown at Jobe's provided a soft plastic cap that is similar to what is used to cover a pvc or steel pipe prior to connecting it. In soft soil even in clamshell as well as soft plastic pipe caps do not protect the plant spike and they break apart into 3 or more pieces, or sometimes split down the middle like clamshells. So in order to install fertilizer spikes into the ground, one has to drill a hole into the soil.

It is an excellent product as long as you follow the After my young trees were first started using these, I waited a long time to write my review, as I wanted to see how they performed after our first planting
5/5

Now that it has been a year since our cypress elm trees were planted, they seem doing very well. As per the instructions and other reviews, as long as you plant along the drip line, you'll be just fine. Our young trees were about 7' tall and 2" in diameter when they were first placed. Growing almost 2' in height and almost 1" in diameter, they have almost doubled in height and width. We haven't had any problems with burning trees as we inserted the spikes just outside the drip line. I'm about to use these for the second year in a row It is unlikely that the second year will differ from the first.

Plants need fertilizer when they are young This is all you need to know
4/5

The cost of fertilizer spikes is low when purchasing them in this manner. Due to my lack of access to analytical tools, I can only assume that the nutrient content is as stated. A granule is pressed into a cylindrical shape with a blunt end so it resembles a spike. The soft plastic cap measures 5 inches by 5 inches With the spikes, a cent-sized piece of soft plastic (which is typically used to protect the ends of pipes during shipping) is included. In the end, the thin, soft cap could not be worn after being driven in 4 spikes. This sort of cap should be available in more than three or four, or they should use the thicker, harder nylon versions they previously offered (which probably cost 10 cents per cap). While these spikes are good, the weak cap makes it difficult to use them. There should be more strength. If they include more of them, that would be ideal. There is a need for fertilizer, but not when it's coming from an orange pseudo-leader. In the 86s.

This was provided in rather poor health by our builder, and the wall traveled 6 feet from him
5/5

This is definitely something that Living in Austin, TX, I live in a neighborhood that is fairly new. Just moved in a little over a year ago, but I started using it immediately. On a random visit, our builder warranty guy couldn't believe his eyes when the Chinese Pisachae, which the builder had provided to us in somewhat poor health, grew 6 feet tall. A couple of infant Mexican white oaks are responding to the spikes in the same way The plants were planted 5 months ago in the middle of Winter and have grown 6 inches since then There are 8 inches in this. During the past 3 months, we planted a 30 gallon x 16 foot hybrid American/Mexican Sycamore tree This will be a true test, assuming we can get 100 feet of shade to blind us from nearby apartments. Looking at the tower of a tree in the area, this will be a real challenge.

It's a great product, but you need to dig them up with a shovel
5/5

With consistent use of these over the years, the trees and shrubs in my yard grow at an incredible rate, showing an outstanding lushness that is unrivaled by anything else Evergreens that had a sluggish and nondescript growth rate bear fruit on four During a season, the plants grow 5 feet tall, with a beautiful deep green hue. Planting maple trees in the early spring resulted in a larger trunk, better height, and fuller foliage than in subsequent planting seasons. You should NOT place spikes too close to the trunk, and you should not use more than what is necessary. If you do that, you will get nothing but This is a tip you might find useful Remove the cap before throwing it away. There is no use for it. You need a gardening spade, plunge it straight down into the ground, push it forward, and drop the fertilizer spike sideways in the ground. Remove the spade and pound the ground to settle the soil and firm up the spike. It is so easy! I can fertilize a dozen trees without bending or kneeling. I have a bad back, but am a 50 year old woman with no problem doing so.
