bought them at a discount because the price was fair at the time. Payment was made in the amount of In my review, I am stating how much I paid for the item because a large part of it is to determine whether or not it is In my opinion, they are a good deal at a low price, and I was glad the sold to me. The do have problems, and I have noticed that I usually get a greenish algae growing on them (I believe it is algae, but it may be a form of That is why I said I was satisfied with them even though it seems to have no effect on their growth. I would have enjoyed having them, but at the current price -- over $10 higher than what I paid -- I just cannot justify them. It is actually cheaper to buy Aerogarden grow sponges than to buy these, and the name-brand sponges do not gather green algae or mold. You don't need to spend $10 more on a product that gets algae on it or mold on it when you can buy the name brand at a lower cost?.
In 3 days I had sponges growing with seeds in them, which made me happy to see.
It is surprising that the quality is so high.
A "knock off" hydroponic system that I have also has cone-shaped input holes similar to the ones on my growing system has The growing sponges in net pots and similar systems also work perfectly in that system. Salads are one of my favorite things as well as fresh pesto pasta, and I love to have lettuce and basil growing in my house all the time due to my love of fresh salads. It may not be possible for me to produce all my own food, but having smaller units that can supply me with some fresh produce is helpful for me. This has a great deal of value, and it begins by planting seeds in It is worth buying them if you have an AeroGarden or similar that you wish to use. Considering how many you receive and the price, it is a fair deal. Definitely worth getting and keeping on hand when the next crop comes along!.

In my experience, I've never seen replacement plugs made specifically for my generic hydroponic pod system. Thus, I had been searching for The Lyko grow sponges seem to be a good fit for my needs. I make pod baskets that are about 1 inch in diameter Three-quarters of an inch by one inch Although these sponges are a bit smaller, they expand when exposed to water. They fill out the basket effectively. Among the original plugs that came with my hydroponics kit were compressed peat plugs. These sponges are actually made of coconut coir, and I was surprised to find that they are actually sponges. Being more stable than trees, they are less prone to a lot of damage, but are still delicate in that roots can still break through.
These are great for a hydroponic growing system and have worked well for my Aerogarden. In a box sealed in a plastic bag, the books come in a nice cardboard box. I used some aluminum foil to poke a hole in the top of the seeds and it worked fine. Most of the seeds I planted have sprouted so I am happy with it. They do not come with covers for the tops so I poked a hole in the top with foil. As good as Aerogarden ones, but at a fraction of the cost. In addition, you can choose which crops you wish.
My hydroponic system is an eSuperegrow, not a name brand. There are square baskets and sponges on it, but I have a hard time finding replacements, since most of them I have been able to use them successfully. There is a slight difference in their length from the original sponges, but can be ignored. It is easy to fill the basket with them because they expand much faster. It is very easy for them to be sown. You get to plant a ton of them! I only have a six spot system, so I stagger my planting so they will last me for a lifetime! I'm happy that I discovered them, and was glad to find such an excellent company.
