Questions & Answers
The query is ambiguous. Specifically, "murphy's candle" vs. "candles. The question, as written, compares the same item. Murphy's candles, on the other hand, perform better than regular candles in my opinion.
This should not be burned inside! It looks great on a porch or patio. Only for use outside

Without them, I'm not sure I'd be able to get through the summer and mosquito season. I'm curious - Could the effectiveness of these sticks be encapsulated in a "portable" mechanism that I could use in the yard or on walks? (I've experimented with a few of the patches and clip-ons. ) ons. They're either ineffective or have an odor that I find repulsive. When I'm working in the yard, I keep one lit and stuck in a small bucket/pail of sand that I keep nearby, but sometimes my hands are full as I move from place to place, and it's not always easy to keep the bucket at my side; it's also helpful to keep one burning in a sand bucket near the door that I use most frequently. In the house, there are fewer flies and mosquitos. So far this summer, I've only had one fly get into the house, and it was most likely through a door that didn't have a stick burning beside it.
I don't mind because they smell wonderful and I enjoy being bug-free. free. Just be aware that a tube of these can easily be consumed in a matter of days.
It takes a few moments to get them lit, but once they are, they are fantastic! In the mountains of North Carolina, I took it camping. And our site was bug-free!br>They have a pleasant scent, which is much preferable to spraying citronella-based sprays on your skin every hour or so! If you have gardening snips, you can clip off the burning end and save the rest for a later time to burn!br>br>If you have gardening snips, you can clip off the burning end and save the rest for a later time to burn!br>br>If you have gardening snips, you can clip off the burning end and save the rest for a later time to burn!br>br>If you have gardening snips, you can clip off the burning When we were all zipped up in the tent for the night, that's exactly what we'd do. Then there was the partially used one, which was already set aside for the morning. And the ones that have been cut light up more quickly! Note! br>br> br>If you're going to put it in the ground, make sure it's not in a place where you or a family member could trip over it. It'll give you a scald!.
I'm amazed at how well they work. Mosquitoes can be found all over Florida, but they are especially bad in humid areas and near water. These sticks keep them at bay and don't have the same noxious odor as citronella candles. I haven't come across anything that works as well as these. I prefer these sticks to the small cones they produce - The cones burned out quickly and didn't seem to have the same range of effectiveness.
THESE SCENT INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. I lit the first stick and felt instantly transported to a mountain campsite. They're a lot thicker than I anticipated, which is a good thing because it means they'll burn for a longer time. br>It produces a lot of smoke when first lit, but it soon settles down and isn't too overwhelming (see video). br>Because the bottom park is quite thick and likely wouldn't fit in most incense burners, I just put mine in a small pot with a saucer to catch the ashes (pic for reference). So far, I haven't been bitten by any mosquitos! I gave him a hard stare and then lit this incense stick, and he walked away, leaving me alone.
These are fantastic. I've had these for over a year and have bought them for both my daughter and myself several times. They are extremely effective. I usually don't burn them all the way to the end of the stick, instead putting the burning end in a flowerpot filled with dirt to put out the fire. Relighting is simple and prolongs the life of the candle. Check out the listings on servers because the larger 12-pack is a better deal. This is an excellent product.
I light a few of these when we arrive at our destination and scatter them throughout our common area. Mosquitoes are a major problem in Alaska, where I live. We can enjoy our visits to the places we go because of these incense sticks. It was well worth the money.
I believe they work. . . it's been lit for about an hour, and I haven't gone yet, but it's still early. It took a minute to light up, but once it did, it stayed lit for a long time - All 12 of the candles I had placed around the back yard remained lit. I placed them in small 3" galvanized buckets and filled them with sand, which worked perfectly to support them. I'm not sure which of the two is working because I also have a thermocell running. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat. If you're unsure, start with a small package. They appeal to me, and my husband isn't complaining! I'm content with myself.
