It's usually me that builds my own beehives, but time is money, and at the moment I do not have a lot of free time. As I get closer to spring, it will only get worse. The hives I found were not as deep as the ones I could build myself from scratch, but I needed more than I did and decided to take my chances. As soon as I opened the box, I was quite surprised by the build quality. Almost hard to believe how well made all these pieces are and how they passed their quality control inspection before shipping. What even irks me more is that the company assured me that it would take care of the issue when I contacted them. I have been waiting for bees for more than a week and that was the last on-going communication I had with them! The customer service department does not have a telephone number, so you will have a tough time following up. As soon as I contacted them to resolve the problem, they responded with an absolutely jaw dropping response! It is very important that I don't order the product again if I do not like it!
I mean, seriously. If they had told me I had bought more, I would not have bought more, but they assured me I did, and this is how their "customer service" If you want to buy from someone else, I strongly recommend it. There will be more photos of their "quality" beehive box kit later on.

The hive is beautiful, I love the natural darker wood finish. As a whole, it came together fairly Dovetails are cut true to size, which is what I appreciate. Therefore, I was upset that a predrilled nail hit a knot and split the wood even though I had predrilled it. The picture shows the scene. The only time it happened was one, so it was okay. With wood glue, I filled the crack and hope that it will not grow anymore. Another issue I had involved a piece of wood that appears to be written on. Due to the fact that waxed wood doesn't glue paint to it, I am stuck with this mark. As far as I can tell, the wood was not really dipped in wax, but rather only There is also some painting on the inner cover, which is not necessary. I hope this doesn't bother the bees. A super and a box have also been damaged on the inside. As bad as it seems, the super is a bit better. As part of my preparation, I cut off a small piece of wood that was separating from the board, so it could climb the rest of the way and become a larger one. Right where the frames are, there is an ugly knot in the hive. The frames will slide more slowly than usual due to this. Fortunately I am able to live with these problems because I have metal covers on the frame rest. I have not assembled the frames yet but they appear to be made of good material. Review will be updated as soon as I have done so. Although this foundation is thinner than the right cell I am used to, I am thinking I may prefer it. As a whole, it is still a good value for $169. I also had to wait more than a month after I ordered it to receive it.

Since I was a young girl, I've painted all my hives. I paint them well so that they'll last for a lifetime, and maybe my kids as well! In that regard, I came across this hive that was sealed with wax and it looked very nice. I find it troubling that the wax looks as if it was put on by a child. There is a lot of content in some areas and little to none in others. To make an even seal, the wax needs to be hand rubbed into the grain of the wood. This is far from the smartest way to seal! In other words, if you're looking for a sealed box like mine, then this is probably not what you're looking for! The wax will need to be taken and the hive will need to be sealed properly now. My usual tactic of painting should have been followed.
