It was larger than it appeared, with a 7-inch tip to top collar and a 10-inch tip to top handle.

Is this product suitable for using with lawn tractor-pulled carts?

With a large tractor, I use these to pull large "kicker" hay wagers. A garden/lawn is much lower to the ground; this pin, on the other hand, is long and will most likely hit the ground. There are a lot more pins that would be useful for you. I recommend that you continue your search for the correct pin.

I'm at a loss for words - It's a hitch pin that connects a rototiller to a John Deere subcompact tractor's PTO. To get through the hookup, I required the extra length. This pin is beautiful, and the price was reasonable.
