The black set is better if you don't care about color because it will hide the chipped paint less obviously. If you do care about color, I ordered four sets but because other consumers expressed concerns, I ordered one white set first. Hence, I bought the 16 cube set of white storage units to match my closets. The customer in question complained of excessive packing materials. There is no need to worry about that. Almost no packing material is provided, and the bubble wrap that is provided is easily I recall that at least one customer mentioned that he/she did not receive enough product, plastic connectors. Only a few extra condensers were needed, but everything else was as it should be. There has been at least one report of plastic connectors breaking. That was not the case with mine. For the most part, I did not use the mallet because I was worried about breaking the pieces, even though the connectors looked strong. As I applied increasing pressure, I was able to secure the parts. Even though I'm an older woman, I found it easy to put together and take apart. Please do not hesitate to make a purchase. The fabric I use for sewing is perfect for it. Pre-washing all my fabric and putting it on the storage rack ensures it is ready to be used for any sewing project. The pieces are easy to put together, and I may order more to give me more storage.
