Black on white is the only label available with this thermal label roll. The gold or silver that come with PT or PTouch printers are probably labeling tapes that use different kinds of media. This might be of some help.
There is no laminate on the label. There seems to be no way to use the label if Brother does not sell it. QL500 labels can be laminated, but I'm not sure whether it prints on them.
Although curling does occur, it is only on the edges, not at the center
The QL label printer does not appear to work on media other than what is purchased from Brother made for it. It is a THERMAL printer that prints on the UNDERSIDE of the paper it was designed to be used with.
