What is the proper way to open the inkpad for inserting into the stamp. ?

Located on top of the ink pad is a lid. Just enough to slip the new stamp pad in, squeeze down on the stamp about a fourth of an inch. Pegs stick out on each side of the pad so you can slide it in with the one on top. In the process of inserting the pad, they break off.

The Trodat Printy 4820 Date Stamper fits perfectly and installs almost immediately. I was very impressed with the ease of installation. Use the tabs to hold it and push into where the old one was. Once inserted, the tabs will snap off and the new one will take its place.
