In addition to securing the coin, the flap also keeps it from falling out. There are two types of coin pages I bought and this one with a flap helps the coin stay in the pocket effectively. It is true that some pockets have separated, which should not happen based on their claim about their strong adhesion. Trying to place heavier coins or medals is not recommended. The standard size of coins, such as United States quarters and similar sizes are fine, possibly. When I opened the album after a week, the pocket separated and the coins fell out. I put some larger coins in the pockets, such as old silver dollars, and the album kept breaking. We will have to wait and see how well other pockets hold up.

They open on the back side. A flap and the opening of the book are on the back of the book. Seeing as I don't use them for coins, I don't have a lot of access to them.

Strong and the right size

This product is precisely what I need to keep my coins in jewel cases and medallions in plastic cases from falling out of my I used an envelope opener to protect the strap that holds the item in the pocket so it could be put in the pocket with a little effort. By easing the blade over the flap, I could raise the plastic band and secure it with the blade.

The best fitting silver coin for a capsule is a 2 oz silver coin

Compared with any other size binder sheet, the six pocket pages can hold 2 oz silver coins in capsules better. The pages are very sturdy

This is a really good product. My favorite part of the page is its layout. It would be great if they were just slightly larger because the medallions we have bought on vacation at state parks and national parks usually come in a case or a wrapper and sometimes it is hard to get them into the holders. A place where the documents are organized is a nice feature.

A great page for holding coins that are half dollar sized or smaller. Silver dollars were too large to go in it, so I bought it mainly for that purpose. However, it does a great job for anything smaller.
