Selected User Reviews For Pilot Mechanical Pencil Lead Neox Graphite 0.7mm, 2B, 40 Leads (HRF7G-20-2B)
As you can see, I used a standard (cheap) mechanical pencil and the lead that came with it to write the first half of my handwriting. The second half is a lot darker, and it was a lot easier to write!! The same pencil, but with this lead, FLAWLESSLY GLIDED across my paper like an Olympic gold medalist skating across ice. I'm in a good mood right now.
I'm not as diligent about leaving online reviews as I should be. However, it was because of this lead that I decided to write a review. I'm not a huge fan of mechanical pencils, and I'm only writing with the lead. But- It's a significant improvement over the two other leads I tried (both from well-known brands beginning with the letter 'P'). It has a smoother, darker writing surface and is easy to erase. Yes, you'll have to take the lead a little more frequently, but it'll be worth it! I've decided that the B lead is far superior to the HB lead in terms of hardness. I'll buy from you again without a doubt!.
In comparison to HB lead, I prefer this. It's a little darker, and it's definitely softer. It has a silky feel to it, which is ideal for quick writing. It does, however, wear down faster than HB due to its softer nature. This means you'll need to rotate your pencil more frequently and feed lead out more frequently.
In comparison to the Rotring lead I was previously using, this one is "harder to break. " It smudges easily and doesn't always erase completely, as I discovered. However, I adore the fact that this lead does not snap all of the time, and it is well worth the investment.
The red color of this lead was a letdown for me. It writes in a pinkish color instead of the red I was looking for. If that's the color you're looking for, I believe you'll find it to be a good lead at a good price, and you'll be happy with your purchase. I didn't care for the color, so I only gave it four stars.
When it comes to drawing, I prefer these to others. Leads are excellent. I prefer these to other brands when it comes to drawing. They appear darker and smoother to me, which I believe is due to the high graphite content. You won't get the squeaky, sticky sensation that comes with high-end products. Leads made of polymer.
On some papers, 2B is a little too smooth and writes almost a black line. 2B or B will produce a dark line that is nearly identical to that of polymer refills, but will not break like polymer refills do.
I've used a variety of mechanical pencil leads over the years - I've even hired them as a cleanup artist for animation - However, these are the most effective I've discovered - And it's the only brand I'll buy from now on.
