The lead on an HB pencil is the same as the lead on a #2 pencil. The 2b lead is a lighter and softer version of the 2a lead. The line produced by a higher "b" number is darker and bolder. The line produced by a higher "h" number is lighter and more difficult to see.
This lead should work with any pencil that uses this style/type of lead (diameter, length). br>The same is true for the other lead diameters (. 5mm and . 9mm).
2b (dark) lead on a regular basis. Lead that is both soft and dark.

I was hesitant to spend $13 on lead, but I decided to do so because I recently purchased a high-end Pentel pencil (the Graphgear 1000) and wanted to ensure that it was well-supported. br>This lead is very hard to break; I've only used one stick so far and there have been no breaks! Using the Up I was burning through sticks due to breakage up brand from Target. In addition, this lead is much darker than the Up. Up lead. The only drawback is that it is softer lead, but that is something I can live with. You'll just have to click a little more frequently as a result. I like how the lines are dark and clean without having to use a lot of pressure. I got this box of 12 tubes, and I'm pretty sure I've got a lifetime supply of lead-free tubes now. I'm just hoping I don't lose my expensive pencil! br>br>**Adjustment- After three months, I'm convinced that this is the best lead available. No, not in the entire universe. NO! UNIVERSE! UNIVERSE! UNIVERSE! UNIVERSE! br>Because the lines are still crisp and sharp, it's a little more difficult to erase mistakes. I always carry an eraser stick with me, so it's not an issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. However, I exert a lot of pressure, which adds to the problem. br>br>**UPDATE** I purchased this in April 2013, and it is now September 2014, and I am still dealing with lead-based paint. plenty. That's four semesters of writing, and I'm only half-way through the box.
It's great that it's available in a mechanical pencil because I'm using it a lot more these days. This simple change will save you a lot of money in the long run because the harder leads last longer, requiring you to buy lead less frequently.
Smooth and dark as it goes down, with good tensile strength and line variation capability. I'm able to effectively replace an entire box of sketch pencils with mechanical pencils using this, an HB, and a 2B. For the record, the graphgear 500 pencils are my favorite. Others, on the other hand, have raved about their roTring. br>br>In any case, my tools aren't as important to me as my eye for scale, composition, perspective, and, above all, my imagination.
While I believe this is superior to standard mechanical pencil lead, I am not convinced that it is significantly superior. It writes a little smoother and isn't as dusty as cheapo mechanical pencil lead, but it's just as harsh. There wasn't much of a difference in terms of price. If this was still available for the same price, I would buy it again, but given the circumstances, I'll probably go with whatever is most affordable.
The Pentel 2H led is the subject of this review. Smooth as silk - There should be no dragging, hard or sharp spots that could damage the paper, and there should be no excessive breakage. Writing and sketching are a breeze with my pencil gliding across the paper.
Because it's a 4H, it gets four stars for softness. Dad jokes are one of my favorite types of humor. Plus, it's a very hard lead, so I'm not sure if "softness" refers to how it appears on paper or whether the lead itself is soft. Because lead is a hard metal, it shows up very faintly on paper. br>Anyway, great lead, I really like it, and it barely shows up on my paper when I try to paint over it (depending on the paint). It's very simple to remove! br>I've completed the task at hand.
I used to use an HB lead, but I recently switched to a 2B lead. Why 2B? You may do so if you so desire. 1. br>br> Because 2B has a softer lead, you should be able to scribble and draw lines with less effort. Have higher-contrast letters and lines than HB,br>br>3. Ability to erase with less effort. br>br>There is one disadvantage to using 2B rather than HB: The former is more smeared than the latter. Place a clean sheet of paper between your writing hand and the surface you're working on to prevent smearing. When using an eraser, make sure to keep it clean by rubbing off any unwanted graphite on a regular basis.
Every Christmas, they stock up on art supplies, so this year they got me some 0. There are seven lead pencils. Imagine my delight when I discovered these Pentel 0's! There are seven 2B leads available! I had no choice but to purchase some, and they are fantastic! Using the number zero The numbers 5 and 0 7's I won't have to travel 40 miles to Hobby Lobby in search of them any longer!.
