Questions & Answers

What makes 2B stand out from the rest of the styles?

For sketching... a softer, darker lead is indicated by the letter B on a pencil. The texture of a 9B pencil is significantly darker than that of a 2B pencil. The majority of B-rated pencils are used to apply texture and create soft backgrounds. For art.. For fine line sketching, a pencil with a rating of 2H, 3H, 4H, or higher is used.

Is there a way to recycle the packaging?

I don't use cardboard packaging when shipping leads. There will be less waste.

The order quantity must be at least three. Is that to say I'll get three packs, each with three tube leads?

No - You'll get one pack with three tubes (as shown), or 3 x 12 = 36 lead pieces.

Quality compensates for a lack of quantity
3/5

I was under the impression that I was paying for three FULL lead containers of 0. 5mm lead. But, alas, I had to pay for one lead container that was only half full. I could have gone to the dollar store and gotten the same amount of 0 for the same price. For a less expensive option, use 5mm lead. Even so, it's only $2, so it's not completely a waste. The lead meets my expectations in terms of quality. It's a powerful lead with a silky texture. It also leaves darker marks without me having to press down too hard, which means it hurts my hand less when I'm writing. Overall, it's not bad. br>br> It would be preferable if the three lead containers were not only quarter-filled but completely filled. But, as I previously stated, it is only $2, so it is not a major issue.

2B vs HB
5/5

I am the proud owner of a Pentel Graph Gear 1000. I also bought a 5mm automatic pencil on Amazon, and I must say, 2B lead is my favorite! br>br>As an engineering/math student, I rely heavily on my pencil. I have to sift through pages and pages of documents. I noticed that with HB lead, my hand became tired more frequently, or that the lead was too light for me to notice, and since I don't press too hard on my pencils, this was becoming a problem. Because the lead was too hard, I switched to 2B lead, which instantly smoothed out my handwriting. The lead is held back from the paper with less friction, making it more pen-friendly. If I had HB lead, it would be more like that. The lines become a little darker, and my handwriting becomes more legible as a result - Others and myself both benefit from it. However, before you buy this lead, you should probably figure out what lead hardness is best for you. If you pushed harder on your pencils, for example, 2H would be better. Because I use very light pressure with pencils, 2B was ideal for me. Pens are all I've ever known. br>br>On a final note, this lead is a better choice for you if you're used to the feel of a pen, the glide, the darker lines, and so on. PROS: br>br>
- handwriting that is more fluidbr>- more pen- as if you were glidingbr>- lines that are darkerbr>- CONS: More writing (hands don't tire as quickly)br>br>PROS: More writing (hands don't tire as easily)br>br>CONS:
- Lead will break slightly more easily than HB lead (but only if retracted too far).

If you want darker writing, I believe 2B is a good hardness to use, but I don't know much about lead and its hardness/darkness in the artsy world, but I knew I wanted something that could write darker while still being a pencil
5/5

If you want darker writing but don't want a completely weak lead stick, I think 2B is a good hardness to go with. I couldn't tell the difference between which lead was writing what at first when I switched from HB to 2B. Actually, I was starting to get irritated. Then I went back to HB, and the difference was night and day. The darker lead writes a bolder (if only slightly) line, and 2B is much smoother (no crusty scratching noise on the paper). I don't care for it, so I'll most likely reduce it to 0. 2B on a 3mm lead. Because of the darker lead, writing on the front/back of papers leaves a heavier imprint on the previous page, so keep that in mind if you prefer spiral-bound books. Notebooks should be bound, and writing should be done on the backside of the paper. Overall, this is a fantastic performance. It's well worth the money, and I'll keep buying 2B over HB lead, even if it means looking for it online.

a good mix of dark imprint and long-lasting hardness I'm a medical student, so I take a lot of handwritten notes every day
4/5

I used to use the plastic mechanical pencils you can buy at Walmart, but I received a Pentel Graph Gear pencil as a gift a while back, and it showed me what I'd been missing out on. Since then, I've tried a few different lead types and this is my favorite; the lead scale has twelve stages, and 2B is three steps away from the darkest and softest lead. 2B strikes a good balance between a readable, dark imprint and not crumbling or breaking under the weight of my writing. If you have a heavy hand, B or even harder HB is a good option, but it will result in a lighter imprint. 3B and the softest available 4B make a darker imprint in the opposite direction, but I find that even with a moderate hand, those leads frequently turn into crumbs.

The best 9 mm lead on the market
5/5

2B lead produces a dark, low-key sound. smudge-resistant, erratic line compatible with all scantrons The only "problem" is that if you try to use the same pressure as you would with HD lead to get a dark line, it will break; the reason "problem" is in quotes is because that much hand pressure wears out my hand well before the end of the assignment.

It was an excellent performance
5/5

These 2B 5 mm leads are for sketching, so I purchased them. I also wanted something that would lay down a darker line than the standard HB leads in this size without putting too much pressure on it, because 5 mm leads are simply fragile. It is necessary to handle them with caution. These Pentel 2B 5 mm leads performed exactly as I expected. When I'm out of them, I'll definitely buy them again.

It's far too easy to break
3/5

Hello, I used to work in finance and accounting and used to use a mechanical pencil. To help with some work, I ordered a new pencil and leads. Wow. Leads are brittle now, and they break so easily. These should be reformulated to make them more powerful. Because the lead cannot be extended far beyond the metal tip, you must advance it frequently. They aren't the same as they once were!.

It's just a lead from a pencil
5/5

This is one of those products that is difficult to describe. It's a pencil lead, and it's meant to be used with a pencil. However, I will say that the writing quality appears to be good in this case. It's dark enough without being too harsh on the lead - It strikes the ideal balance of toughness and darkness, in my opinion.
