Be aware that many islands, including Midway, Saipan, Okinawa, Kodiak, and Iwo Jima, are not represented on this map. Although these are small landmasses, they are vital to the United States. history. br>The map is decent, but it is incomplete, which is a disappointment. 'Most of the World Map' should be the map's title!.
The map itself is excellent in terms of maps. It's a big book with a lot of information. Because I teach fourth grade social studies, I use maps on a daily basis. I wanted one that could be seen by everyone in class. br>br>I chose the laminated version because I planned to keep it for a long time. I also like laminated maps because I can use dry erase board markers to write on them and they are easy to clean. When I first opened the map, I noticed that the lamination wasn't strong enough to use dry erase board markers on. Unfortunately, the lamination isn't thick enough to prevent it from ripping apart. br>br>The map was ripped in three places simply from falling off the wall ONCE while attempting to hang it up. If you're a teacher, you're well aware that if something is TRULY laminated (as this map claims), it should not tear if it falls. It shouldn't tear in any way. br>br>I'm extremely disappointed because I spent a lot of time researching maps for my classroom before purchasing them with the meager funds I have as a teacher. I justified my purchase by assuming it would last a long time. I'm no longer able to return it, and it's too torn to display in my classroom.
This map is extremely bright and colorful, and it closely resembles the image. My only complaint is that I'm not sure why they're allowed to advertise it as laminated. There is a very thin layer of lamination on the map, and if you aren't careful, it could easily get away from you (it's a big map, and hanging it straight, even with a level, is difficult) and cause an unwanted crease. I believe it should be sold for half the price because it is so thin.
The print is too small to read and there isn't enough detail. Even with a magnifying glass, the print is difficult to read.

A copy of this map was on display in a high school classroom where I was a substitute teacher. Its attractiveness and readability were immediately apparent to me. After that, I did some research and compared other world maps that were available - On the basis of price, size, color, and other factors, I decided that this was the map for me. It's a nice addition to the north wall of our family room, but we can't feel any closer to family members who live in other parts of the world because of it. It was a wise decision.
It was exactly as pictured, if not better. Old World colors or the vibrant one seen above can be displayed on both sides. Large and easy to read (at least when I wear my glasses!). Some nations and states are extremely small! )br>It was purchased for online students to learn world geography, as well as for adults to brush up on. While some of us may disagree about the size of Greenland, it is an excellent map. Going to get a similar-sized US map. br>Easily adhered to the wall with six 1 inch pieces of double-sided tape. I used double-sided mounting tape and didn't try to roll it up again.
