This is fantastic! It's glossy, which I assume is due to the laminating, though I've never seen such thin laminating that didn't appear to be cheap. This does not appear to be flimsy or cheap. It arrived in a cardboard tube, rolled up, wrapped in plastic. I rolled it backwards and rubberbanded it for a day before unrolling it and tacking it to the wall of my office. A word of warning, however: If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't order it so soon after ordering something else because a heavy item I ordered arrived in the same tube box as the map. You'd think the person in charge of packing the box would know better. But I guess I got lucky because the heavy object seemed to be wedged in there pretty tight. However, it was not a risk worth taking.
This map is being used in my office for business purposes - so that I can quickly see where potential/new customers are in relation to current customers Yes, a map on the internet is always available, but there's something special about having a map on the wall that you can mark with pins and easily see. Plus, in a professional setting, maps look great on a wall. This is a fantastic piece of writing. It's made out of laminate. I had to trim this map down a little to fit it on a cork board, so it was laminated nicely. When you trim it, it doesn't unravel or delaminate. That was a wise decision.
The map would be perfect if it didn't have a crease every two inches. 5" to 3. 5" from the top of the map to the bottom. Because the map was delivered rolled, the creases had to have occurred in another way. I'm going to order a replacement map from Amazon to see if the creases are present on this one as well.
Almost every highway is depicted on this map. It doesn't have city highways like loops and other loops, so you'll have to go back to the atlas for that, but the information on it will get you to the city. This is an excellent map. It can be stapled together or mounted on poster board.
We plan our trips using a map. This map was advertised as being 24" x 36" in size. The whole thing is that size, but there's a lot of extra space around the actual land, which is then surrounded by a thick border. Then there's a white space border. We lost about 4" of map space in each direction as a result. It is difficult to see the roads.
This is an excellent map! It is densely forested, with numerous cities and roads. I wish there were more cities on the map, but I understand there isn't enough room. We work a lot of music festivals, art shows, and other incredible events, and we use this map to keep track of where we've been in the United States. It's perfectly fine.
This map is large enough for me to see where we've been as well as where we're headed. To make it more rigid, I had to glue it to some Styrofoam board.
motorcycle road trips in the future.
