I would never, ever do something like that. They're used to seal wax and write letters. As a result, the metal may contain toxic chemicals that are unsafe for consumption. So, even if they worked, I wouldn't go through with it. I believe they manufacture chocolate embossing tools, which I would only purchase from the homewares and cooking section. I hope this has been of assistance.
Is it possible that "brown wooden" is a description of the handle? This item is a nice stamp for use with sealing wax. It works flawlessly!

One of my most-used stamps! Penpaling is something I enjoy doing, and I like to spice up my messages. Because my name is Kristin, a signature K is appropriate. Making wax seals is a lot of fun for me! An aside: In general, avoid using wax seals because they can increase postage costs. Instead, I began sealing letters inside envelopes so that they could be machinable.
So, if you're doing multiple wax seals, you'll have to wait until the stamper cools down before continuing because the wax won't dry and will look dull and tacky. Also, to ensure that you stamp straight, draw a sharpie line up the side to the back so you can see what you're doing while stamping.
It reminds me of my childhood, when parcels were sealed with wax and seals like these were used. So I went out and purchased one with my granddaughter's initial on it, and I assisted her in using it.
