Gold bookends added a unique touch of personality with the unexpected shape they had while still remaining glam. I did not have any difficulty standing them up without adding any additional weight to them, and the grated design did not affect how well they sat on a flat surface. For an apartment, this piece is simple, stylish, and a good statement piece. The gold was a bit of a risk since it looks yellow and/or cheap, but it works quite well.

There are cacti! The cutest thing ever

As a result, they do their best to provide stability, but it doesn't always work out. I use them in my office with several heavier books between, so they do their best to do so. The only problem is that the base stabilizers are quite thick, so they don't sit flat, so they don't sit flat against the shelf or book bottoms. But overall, they're lovely little cacti, and they certainly make my office seem cool.
