Questions & Answers
On the floor, there is a smooth side. The rough side is facing up.
There is a tongue on the 47x36" mat. Because the corners are rounded, the narrow section that goes under the desk (tongue) measures approximately 10x19". That leaves around 37x36" for the mat's largest part.
That's what we've got, and it's working fine.
In the mat, your wheels should not be synchronized. It's in my office, which has hardwood floors, and it works well with my wheeled office chair.

I'm taking a few moments to write a review based on the feedback I received from some of the other reviews I read while looking for a chair mat. br>I wanted to help people who were worried about something that "looked nice but slid all over. " It doesn't; read on for more information. br>br>For the past few months, I've been working from home. As a result, I needed a mat to place on my hardwood floors to protect them from the wear and tear caused by my office chair. br>I wanted a clear mat to complement my hard wood floors. I also wanted one with a "lip" for my feet under the desk and a surface area for my chair. SHAREWIN Chair Mats for Hard Wood Floors have this 47"x36" one. At $26, it was a steal. So, what's the issue? 99 and perfect footprint for looks and performance in a home office. br>So, what's the issue? I kept seeing conflicting reviews, so I decided to look into it. Some people are happy with it, while others complain that it slips and moves around too much. Oh no. . Who wants a slipping, bouncing chair mat? Argh! br>br>So, I made the decision to take a chance. It's not a big deal if it doesn't work out at that price. So, I place the order, I receive the mat, and now it's time to put it to the test. br>br>First, I unroll the mat and lay it flat to straighten it out and "uncurl" it. They are shipped rolled and wrapped, which means they must settle and lay flat (time varies, but they are usually flat by morning at room temperature). To help mine flatten out, I placed books on the corners. I noticed it slid around a little while I was doing that. But I let it sit for a night to settle. br>br>The following day, I pick up the books, which are nice and flat. Now for the "slipping" test: I place it in front of my desk, with the SLICK clear side down and the slightly textured/frosted side up (important). I sat down on the mat with my chair. I swung my chair around and pushed my feet against the mat. Nothing happened; it stayed put and functioned flawlessly. all day. Success! My search had come to an end, and I had paid less than I had anticipated. Amazon has yet another great product. br>br>I've been using it for a few weeks and haven't had any issues. Picking up the sides and pulling them up will cause it to lose contact with the floor and slide wherever you move it. After that, simply lay it flat on the floor to keep it in place. Don't be concerned if others say it slid all over the place. If it's slipping on them, it's possible that their floor has a polish, coating, or something on it (or that they've got the wrong side down). This mat has no issues; it grips the floor and performs admirably. br>I hope this information is useful to anyone who is on the fence about it, as I was. There are no concerns because of the low price and high quality of the product.
It was far superior to my expectations. Spongy padding that stays in place and keeps the corners flat. This is an excellent purchase. No smell.
From carpeted to laminate flooring, we made the switch. I took a seat in the desk chair and flew across the room. I went to Amazon right away to look for chair mats. I found what I was looking for and read the reviews after that. More than one reviewer suggested laying the mat out in the sun to flatten it out (it arrives rolled up). That was done by me. I've never had a single issue in my life. The mat was perfectly flat when it was laid out. I no longer have to roll across the floor, and I can easily move the chair wherever I want. It is sufficiently thick and appears to be durable and long-lasting, and the price is reasonable.
I bought this to protect my new vinyl plank flooring in my basement workshop/office. br>I had no trouble laying it flat, and I was able to use it right away. br>It was fine after 24 hours in a 65°F environment; I've only had it for a few months so I can't comment on durability, but I haven't noticed any signs of wear and tear. br>For my wife's office chair, I'm going to get another one.
I just got this mat late yesterday and haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I've already noticed three things. The clear color is very clear, not yellowish or murky, and it looks great! It also appears to be sturdy; I rolled it out and it almost immediately laid flat. I laid it flat over night, and it's completely flat this morning, including the corners. br>br>One negative point is that, despite the fact that it claims to be 36 inches, it is not. It's approximately 35" in length, possibly slightly longer. I bought this to line a playpen that I'm using to house an animal, and I needed it to be 36" long. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't been for that. I'm going to keep it and just improvise with it because it appears to be perfect for the job!.
The mat was nearly flat as soon as I placed it on the floor. The edges were perfectly flat after I simply rubbed them with my hand. I tried rolling the chair on and off the mat, but it did not move. This is fantastic. It blends in with the floor and is almost undetectable. It's thick enough to keep scratches off the floor. This mat accomplishes its purpose admirably.
It protects your hardwood floors, but after 5 minutes of use, it looked terrible. When your office chair rolls over it, it scratches it immediately, as shown in the photos. It was a real letdown.
My floor has benefited from the use of this chair mat. I removed the carpet in my home office and replaced it with an engineered hardwood floor over a year ago. The engineered hardwood floor is lovely, and I want it to last, but because the floor is smooth and not textured, the desk chair's wheels stopped rolling and simply slid across it. The floor beneath the chair began to show signs of wear as a result of this dragging motion. Because the chair mat is slightly textured on one side to promote wheel rolling, I put it down to save my floor and it has stopped the dragging motion and loosened the wheels so that they can roll again. The chair mat is holding up well and will keep my floor clean for many more years. br>br>Before laying it down on the floor, make sure it is dust-free. I'm very pleased with this product, and it appears to stay put.
