In order to make an informed comment, it is important to discuss what is needed for chair mats. IF you have hardwood floors, here's what you should look for in a chair mat I. - * Smooth mat underside for a better grip on the floor - It would be nice if there was some weight on the mat so it doesn't slide around* - Spread out more so it does not move while lying flat - An inert material is one that is not chemically active - This mat features a textured surface that provides tactile feedback (we use it so we know we're still on it) and that won't scratch. *How this mat compares I. - On the mat is a leg chair without wheels and it does not Check your weight (CHECK) - Lay flat (CHECK, it was shipped flat, I don't know if it can be rolled since the plastic is almost hard)
- In contrast to most lousy shoe mats I have bought, this mat is chemically inert (CHECK, polycarbonate, 15 minutes and a waste of a perfect cup of coffee later I can prove stains/spills will not soak-on to my shoes). Top surface is textured (CHECK, polycarbonate does not scratch easily and the texture surface prevents scratches from showing up)

What you don't have to worry about I. - Finish clear (useless, you can just see the floor under the mat from a distance, and it causes the mat to easily scratch which was one of the major complaints against other similar products)

It basically does what it is supposed to do. You can protect your floors with this mat. As for the hardwood floor version, it slips quite badly on it which is an inconvenience as you need to reposition it quite often. Its one important flaw, though, is that it is not as large as it appears. Clearly, the width is less than 35, as you can see on the picture. The width of the shirt is 5 inches and the length is 47 inches. 24 1/2".

I read all the descriptions and loads of reviews before choosing this chair mat. Shopping for a chair mat isn't much fun, but luckily I found these reviews that made the decision easier. My choice was a good one. I haven't had it long enough to say how well it will last, but it lays flat, is relatively transparent, has just the right texture. I like the surface of this desk because it has enough surface to not slide around, and is big enough for my desk and chair. This week, we will be purchasing a second one. Please feel free to save yourself some of the less than thrilling shopping time and just go with what is offered here. The first month has been good to me.

These mats are very small and do not fit an office chair well. As a result, it is my fault for thinking that the measurements would work while they clearly do not. The mat on my desk is too slippery for me to slide around on it without falling off. As a result, I will have to take responsibility for this, even though I should have remembered measurements more before purchasing. It was not what I knew and did not expect that these mats are so slippery. Stepping on the mat has nearly caused me to fall several times. In spite of the fact that it is made of rubber, the mat does not stick to my floor. the mat does not stay in place on the floor at all, so when I use my feet to push my chair out, the chair goes back and the mat slides forward. In order to ship these mats back, it would cost me more than the merchandise is worth, and I am out This type of mat should not be bought. Look into buying roller blade wheels for your office chair if you want to protect hardwood floors. They can be cheaper than cheap mats, and you won't have to worry about your chair falling off a cheap mat every time.

Although the edges appear to be bevelled, they are actually not. The mat is very thin, however, so you do not have an issue with rolling over the edge with chair wheels. Although the mat is very thin, I think it is still a "thick enough" mat as compared to mats I have used before. There is a kind of translucent quality to it. A smooth side is on the bottom, and the matted side is on top. I have the smooth side on top. It would have been slippery if it were not for the traction. There is no way for the chair to slide around on the floor with a mat on top, so that is okay.

It was bought to replace a clear vinyl mat that had become sticky on the back and would leave residue on my carpet. Thus far, I am much more pleased with the polycarbonate mat *Lies flat on its back There was a small amount of flattening on the vinyl mat -- No smell after years of use - even after years of use I always noticed a strong plastic smell coming from my vinyl mats. More There was a hazy blueish tint to the vinyl I bought the lipped version, and it fits neatly under my desk. I don't have any slippage issues with this. The design is also clean, with no holes or extra handles.

The chair wheels are just the right size. We wanted to have at least the color show through because we had simulated wood grain tile. The answer is yes. They appear not to be invisible on the tile floor, but they are unobtrusive as well. We also did not want giant mats like we had in our previous home. Mats of this size are the right size for covering the area of the floor where my chair moves, and are not too big for the office environment. Although I've been working at my desk for several hours, I haven't fallen off yet. At first, we were able to lead people on a walking path if you stepped on them as you started or stopped walking, but eventually, the mats started sliding across the tile. This problem was solved with four pieces of double-sided tape Mounting tape is a double-sided clear tape that can be applied between tiles and mats. Almost no one can see the tape. The chair mat is honestly one of the few things I can't get excited about, but I am totally satisfied with it.
