As well as having two desks, I have mine set up. The bolt on one end bolts to a desk, and the other end has a finished end, so I just butted it up to the second desk, but you could leave the end off and use brackets to connect them.

In order to make sure I review this desk, my husband asked me. In addition to the 72' desk and 48' return, we bought the matching 3-drawer cabinet at the same time. We always wanted a nice desk for our son, and this is by far the best one he has ever made, and he works in IT, so he has put together many. Despite the small amount of time he spent assembling it, it is made of high-quality materials and is extremely durable. They are in excellent condition, with no chipping paint or peeling particle board! This has been my favorite pair of glasses for a couple of weeks now, and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Assembly of the Return was simple and easy, and it matches the desk and file cabinet perfectly. We were able to figure it out, despite the instructions being very confusing. There are four complete desks that I have purchased. I really like how they look and they are pretty high-quality. That wall paper stuff is so dated! Laminate is the way to go!
