Is it possible to make half-oage folds with this?

There are only three folds.

Will it work for me if I need to print brochures?

It ought to function correctly. However, the first couple of papers you fold will jam, and you will have to remove the jammed paper, but after that it should work fine. It says it can fold three at a time, but it can only fold one at a time. It has two folds 8. Folds are available in 5x11 and A4 sizes. Aside from that, I've had mine for about 8 years and it's still going strong. Mine isn't used as frequently as it once was.

I see that it folds inward; could it be changed to fold outward so that the printing is on the top?

Yes, flip the paper over and fold it outwards. No more than three sheets are allowed. Place firmly in the top of the machine while keeping the paper level with the top. It pulls you in immediately. Countless sheets were folded.

Is it possible to fold paper in a zig-zag pattern? zigzag or zigzag (as in a brochure)?

It folds three times like a brochure.

If you don't pay attention and put the papers in just right, it will crease one side so badly that you won't be able to use the pages and will have to copy more to re-create them

I bought this from another vendor and don't want anyone else to go through what I went through

It is only effective up to and including two sheets. It jams with 1 sheet 24 pound letterhead and 2 sheets 20 pound copy on a regular basis, and it even struggles with 2 sheets. I've only had it for a couple of years. I would not recommend this product and regret spending so much money on it.
