The design of them all is about the same, and you would expect them to function the same way. In spite of that, they do not. There is just a little bit of a different angle on this razor, which allows it to cut through the envelope like butter. While others are able to cut through easily. Can you tell me if this blade is sharper than the other one? In addition to cutting wrapping paper with this style opener, I sometimes use it for packaging. Other openers I've used work poorly and torn through the paper. With this opener, the paper cuts cleanly through. Moreover, this opener has a "guard" in the blade area (the others do not) so you don't seem to have an opportunity to get cut accidentally. I am very happy with this opener and would recommend it!.

I have been wanting and intending to get this item for a long time. The Amazon shopping experience is also made easy thanks to its easy search and purchase functionality. My new domain is now a reality. It came up easily, and works well. In particular on items that are of sentimental value to me, I'm so tired of trying to open letters in a ham-handed manner without tearing the envelope apart. With this device, you can quickly and easily get the job done. Would have bought it from some years ago if I had looked it up. There was some kind of free promotional one with advertisements from some company I finally broke my computer, and I could not bear to be without one. It was quick and easy to research on Amazon, lots of great reviews, so I didn't need four, but I can share them with friends now! For my husband to see exactly what the difference between old and new is, I handed him the old item. This particular pencil had a soft tip and often failed to cut all the way through a letter and open it out the other end. So far, the first of this four pack is working great. I think the one thing that could make it better is a magnet on each one so you can stick it to your refrigerator or computer tower so it doesn't just sit there. It holds fine with the magnet from my free one that I glued to one of these.

It is really sturdy, and it works like a charm. It doesn't rust, crack, or bust. Honestly, I'm so glad I got these letter openers. My electronic bill pay machine slides right through the envelopes and sometimes cuts off the payment coupon inside the envelope so that I don't have to tear it Usually, the pointy part of the tool is used to pierce the end of envelopes as part of letter opening protocol. I've been using the yellow one since receiving the set and it seems that it is going to It's a shame because I wanted to use the red one instead of yellow, but I can't since I'm using the yellow one. The yellow one will probably get lost or stolen one day, so I can use the red one instead. I wonder if it will fall to the trash if it falls off the desk. Then it might disappear under a folder or a pile of papers for a few months, and then I'll have a chance to reminisce when it reappears. The chances of that happening are high. There are no problems with these. Although I have been cutting coupons with them, I haven't been able to use them effectively on lighter There is about a 50/50 chance that they will begin with a smooth cut or with a tear on letters. issue seems to be a gap between the plastic feeder and the blade that allows the paper to bunch up a bit if it doesn't cut the first time and results in unclean tears. My plans do not work out.
